Terrible experience with this company!! Hired them to replace the old painted window and flooring…read moretrim (and 2 interior doors) with stained wood in my vacation ski condo. The carpentry was good but the stain was applied super light and streaky in spots which caused it to turn orange when sunlight hit it. They also got wet stain smudges on some clothing and bed linens. They left the job incomplete and said they'd be back in a week to finish... (while I was stuck waiting for them to finish so I could paint and then rent out the condo for summer). A month went by and when I contacted the owner about the issues and not coming back to finish the job... he got a bad attitude (screenshot of texts attached): "Have a lot of work going on and scedualing [sic] things don't always work out the way I'd like. My prospective [sic] I did the work with no money up front. You had opportunity to look at work before you paid me. I'm done with conversation will be there Thursday morning to restrain trim and pay for hat and linen" I paid him $2000 in cash as soon as he told me the work was done (he had me drive across town to meet him!), but I didn't inspect the work first which was my own fault. He never asked for payment up front... but then complains says I didn't pay him up front and paid him after without looking at the work?? He said he'd come back and re-stain the trim but otherwise refused to finish the job! The doors were never installed and there are sections of trim missing all over (see pics). Really didn't want them back to re-stain trim after already installed (I had furniture and carpet brought in during the month they never came back to finish, and had to start painting... don't want more stain drips all over brand new furniture and flooring). Have tenants moving in in a week and now have to find a new contractor to finish the incomplete work!

Also installed new roof venting and ice shields. Loved the service so much we hired his crew and associates to install drainage and grading around our home and repair a wall and rain gutter system as well as storm damage. He never missed a beat. Great reliable service from a smart guy at a decent price. A real find!

If you have carpets that need cleaning, look no further! We were beyond pleased with Carpenter's…read moreCleaning Service. I wish we'd taken before and after photos to demonstrate why. We have wool carpeting downstairs and standard carpeting upstairs. The wool carpet was looking a little tired, but the standard carpet, a very light beige color, was bad (stained in many places and grayish from years of family traffic). I'd actually figured it was beyond hope and that we'd need to replace it. But I am not exaggerating when I say that after Carpenter's worked their magic, they looked like new rugs. Night and day. And not only do they do an impeccable job, they are professional, courteous, and very responsive to their customers' needs and level of satisfaction. Proof that small, locally owned businesses like Carpenter's are worth our attention and our business!

High points: 1) The shampoo he used had very little smell…read moreand I am rather sensitive to odors. He also has a thyme additive that can help kill bacteria. (I chose to add this for an added $30 fee.) 2) Professional and friendly. Wesley took time to talk and we got to know each other a bit, all while doing his prep work for cleaning. Having him in my house wasn't uncomfortable at all (it sometimes can be with strangers). I had Wesley come to my house and clean 5 rooms. The carpet, a white Berber, about 10 years old and having suffered through four kids, had never been cleaned. It was actually turning a gross grey. There were severe spots of soda abuse in my teen's room, and possibly clay from kids craft. I knew it wouldn't look new, but I needed better, and that's what Wesley gave me! The less traveled carpets looked REALLY nice and the carpet wearing the heavy traffic was better. The living room was so soiled that it had some funky stripes going on after the initial cleaning. I talked to Wesley about it and he explained that there had been a lot of soil in that one area (indeed there had been). He offered to do it again, charging only the price of gas. That was very nice of him and I appreciated the gesture. I paid him more than the price of the gas because it's not his fault we had never cleaned the carpets before. The second cleaning did the job and the living room looks SO much better!
