Okay, so the reviews below have pretty much got this business covered…read more But I have a little nugget of information about this place which needs to be shared. Not only do they sell a wide range of Ugg boots - metallic silver and gold styles included - they also sometimes include them in very generous sales. So every once in a while it's worth popping into Greaves, heading up to the second or third floor, and checking out the state of their Ugg prices. One time I was greeted with a beautiful pair of gold Uggs for the bargain price of £60. Let me put this in context for you, they're normally a HUNDRED and sixty. Sadly, they only had them in size 8. I did try them on, but even I had to concede that with my size five feet I looked like a clown. Definitely worth checking though!

I've been there a few times, and every time, I found exactly what I was looking for, and that I could not find elsewhere. From gift rugby/football jerseys to swimming or running equipment, I always found exactly what I was there for. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to help you properly. The range of brands and items is not as large as in other stores (but if you want more choice, their other glasgow store is a bit bigger I think!), but it is still 4 stories of products and as I said, there will be what you are after! (Ok, you can blame me if it's not the case:)) In terms of price, well it's all mainly big brands, so you won't find cheap deals there, but you can be certain it's going to be top quality.

However, Man's World does remain one of the handiest clothing outlets on Byres Road on account of its stock of uniforms for nearby schools. Confusingly, despite what you would assume to be a fairly self-explanatory name, it also does well through the renting of dresses. As for the fashion, well i have to be honest and say I've only ever bought socks from here. Good socks, admittedly, but I'm not sure the quality is matched by the rest of the stock which appears to be a little tired and dated. Worth a look though for every day essentials.

It has good quality materials and this is reflected in decent - not taking the pee - prices. However, my main YAY! for this shop does come solely from an experience which happened a couple of weeks ago. The boy's mother came up to Glasgow for the day and while I was hard at work, they went for a stroll. On this stroll, the boy was bought some brand new, spanking clean socks by his mother. Not, really the kind of thing I would normally make a big deal of. But for the past month he'd been wearing either socks with massive holes in them or purple thermal numbers of mine. Who knew a pair of new, clean black socks could be so so sexy??

I…read moredon't know about you, but for me I am (solely) motivated by purchasing pretty new exercise clothes, which is how I ended up taking a detour into Sweaty Betty one Friday afternoon. First things first - this shop is baltic hot roasting warm. I guess it's called Sweaty Betty for a reason. I felt like I'd done a class of Bikram Yoga by the time I left, and that was just from having a browse. Now, onto the clothes. These aren't your dull, uninteresting workout clothes. They're bright, colourful, stylish and very drool-worthy. They also sell sneakers, workout accessories like running gloves and yoga mats. The downside is the price - you aren't talking cheap stuff here, as a pair of leggings will set you back around anywhere between £40 - £90. I got chatting to the staff members who are possibly the friendliest people on the planet and they told me about the free fitness classes offered in-store. Free, you say - that sounds like my kind of thing. There's yoga, HIIT and a special class called Fly, Flex, Flow which they are just doing for a few weeks. To get into these classes you need a Sweaty Betty card (free) and you sign up online. I'm definitely going to give one a try and then treat myself to some shiny new leggings as a reward.

Sweaty Betty is a haven for me, so many gorgeous clothes and colours and stuff I would happily wear shopping or to lunch post gym. Confession, I've never bought clothes from here. But knowing friends who have, the stuff is great quality. (I'm just waiting for pay-day, and a sale is currently on, so will make a purchase soon and re-review.) I visited here thanks to Denise telling me about an event to do with nutrition and sport, also sponsored by Juice Warrior and Healthy Nibbles. The staff from all companies were great, but the lady from Sweaty Betty who had a PhD in Nutrition led the talk and was so honest. It's lovely to see a brand have passionate employees who were all forms of gym-goers, from runners, to yogis. They also offer free circuit classes, yoga, and runs. Just check on the blackboard beside the changing room.

Mainly formula one and related car sports - this place does have some quite funny t-shirts. My favourite is the one that says very simply "I am the Stig." My mum keeps threatening to get one and wear it entirely for the purpose of making my brother cross. To be honest, it would probably be worth it. (Even though this shop isn't very cheap...) Great for gift buying - here you'll find a t-shirt suitable for even the most difficult to please man in your life. Also worth a trip just for a bit of entertainment!

All I could see in this store was a shrine to The Stig. You would think he was the 21st century Jesus the way his status is elevated in Wheels of Sport. Stig tees, mugs, life-sized cut outs - can't be avoided. There was probably another limited amount of stock in here not relating to The Stig. I suppose there is, and if you're interested in F1 then you might enjoy it. I for one can't stand it, hence my review. I don't mind a bit of Top Gear every now and then, but I only tune in for the cross country races with planes and suchlike. If you like The Stig, you'll find this place a hoot. Otherwise, you'll pretty soon learn that its specialised formula is somewhat limited, and you'll swerve by it.

If looking for running shoes, don' let the eerily quite shop put you off, the staff are very knowledgeable. They will assess your gait by watching you walk up and down then a little jog, which is all done inside the shop, where they will then bring an assortment of different shoes for you to try, while they assess how you walk again. They will talk of things like pronation of the foot, as it is likely that everyone has a little of it. It is great to hear your condition explained to you. They give recommendations on brand for fit and your foot requirements. It was nice to know that they even recommended the cheapest pair of trainers which I was swithering over, so they are not money hungry corporate monsters that they could be. Specialised running shoes are rather pricey, but they are so beneficial to your joints whether it is walking, road, or cross country running you would like to do. If you do have over pronation like me, there are different sorts of shoes you can buy too which will act as a sort of physiotherapy for your foot and strengthen your muscles. I didn't buy any or my bill would have been huge, but I am not saying I am not still thinking about it. Costs for the sorts of trainers on offer was about £65 - £110, you can't put a price on health.

The only difference on the tags is the currency sign in front of the number. If a pair of wunder unders is priced at 98#s that means that it retails for $98 USD.
