4.5 During my four day stay in Marbella, I ate at Celicioso four times - I think that statement says enough. Besides the convenience from being right across the street from our hotel, it really had everything you could ever want. Advertised as a bakery, they also have dishes for every meal of the day (most of them healthy!), and are open all day and night. They have a great indoor/outdoor area with comfortable seating, and it gives off the perfect vibe to stay for a while. For real, their menu encompasses just about everything. They have eggs, toasts, acai bowls and pancakes for breakfast. For lunch and dinners, their menu ranges from salads, sandwiches, pastas, and more! Everything seems to made with wholesome ingredients, and most of the menu (if not all) is gluten-free. Some of the favorites were: falafel, sweet potatoes, mykonos salad, and chicken salad. SWEET POTATOES // These chips are perfectly thin and crispy, without the greasy film you get from most chips. They are a great addition to any meal. FALAFEL // These falafel nuggets don't taste like your traditional falafels, and are a bit softer, but are still tasty nonetheless. They are also served with 3 dipping sauces we all enjoyed! MYKONOS // This greek salad was incredibly fresh. It comes with just the basics: cucumber, tomato, red onion, olives, green bell pepper, and feta cheese. It's also possible to add chicken (it comes chopped up!) to add some extra protein to the salad. CHICEKN SALAD // Another simple, yet fabulous salad - pepper arugula, shaved parmesan cheese, and pieces of chicken with a heavy rosemary flavor. This was super light and simple, but with flavors that stood their own. VEGGIE BURGER // This was one dish I didn't care for. It was mushy and fell apart easily, and didn't resemble a hamburger like many veggie burgers do. It's not something I would order again. The service at Celicioso was inconsistent. With smaller parties, they were very on-top of it, but struggled with larger groups. On some trips, the food came out quickly, and others we had to wait awhile. Was fearing the worst when I ordered a gluten free banoffee cake. Was pleased to be wrong tasty and better than some normal full fat cakes. My wife's tiramisu cake was also amazing, and I usually would give that a swerve. Funny outdoor space and fast friendly service. Prices weren't bad for the area, will definitely be back to try the breakfasts. read more

They even forgot to bring one of the orders, had to remind them and when it finally did come, it too wasn't exactly what we ordered plus it arrived after everyone had finished their meal. Nice vibes, great menu, and my daughter liked the Bolognese. My honeymoon juice was fresh and spicy. The service was the only issue. Must be some sort of cultural thing I don't get about asking for water. Was taking forever so decided to pack up the pasta. Afterwards the water came out. The server looked pissed off we didn't want it anymore. I then said I could just take the water to go too. But they just took it back. Saw another server just get us a plain glass of water for us. Yes! He brought out the check. Said can I put it on our room. He crumpled up the ticket like ugh you should've said. Then said kinda rudely you have to come up here if you want to charge it to your room. Yes sir! Smiled at the manager walking out and he looked super pissed off at me too. Came another afternoon and they were almost equally cold. Might be just a cultural thing or they're just taking themselves too seriously. The bubba Gump btw is not really any kind of bowl but just a lil regular salad. And the healthy pasta is not really worth it. Delicious cakes, really good brownie, not so great customer service (or cookies). Stopped in around 9 pm (shortly before closing). I asked if I could purchase some pastries for take away and the young lady said "Um- yeah" in a very curt way with an obvious attitude... Unnecessarily rude- hence the one star knocked off. (I understand that an employee may not love a customer walking in a half hour before closing. That's why I ordered everything to-go. In either case, appropriate customer service should preclude this type of treatment. Staff should be retrained or replaced.) On to the food.. we got 5 or 6 slices of cake, several cookies and a brownie. The triple chocolate and black velvet cakes were by far the best. The frosting on the black velvet cake is exceptionally good. I would highly recommend both. The brownie was fudgey and delicious. The icing on the red velvet cupcake was really well done, but unfortunately the cupcake was super dry. The chocolate cupcake had decent frosting, but was also very dry. The cookies weren't good. We tried almost every flavor. Bottom line: Try the delicious triple chocolate and black velvet cakes. Skip the (dried out) cupcakes and cookies. read more
