Sam is the most honest jeweler I have ever dealt with. I will never go anywhere else for replacement/repairs of any of our jewelery. The quality is excellent and the they are very timely. Any time I or my wife wants a piece of jewelery we will go there. Save yourself from the bend over and take it from the other places who wink and nod at you to tell you you're getting a great deal! I called and spoke with the owner of Celestial Jewel, Sam, after the diamond solitaire fell out of my 37 year old engagement ring. Luckily I had found the stone, so I needed the ring repaired. Sam inspected the ring and recommended the repair he thought was most appropriate. He ordered the required new setting and called me the next day, as promised, to let me know my ring was ready. The repair quality is wonderful and the price was fair - all within a day's turnaround! The store is small but also has a nice selection of jewelry. Celestial Jewel is my favorite jewelry store in the Alamo Heights area and does the best work in all of San Antonio. This hidden gem is the to-go jewelry and repair shop for all 09'ers and all of San Antonio. Sam, the owner is absolutely delightful and is not only a Master Gemologist, the highest certification attainable by the GIA, but is a Master Jeweler and Craftsman. His custom work is amazing and looks like it came right off the runway, or a page of Vogue. His repair work is equally impressive and he has immaculately fixed many complex, valuable and sentimental items for my family and myself. I love Celestial Jewel's in-store, custom design work. If you have an idea about what you want to bring life in a piece of jewelry, Sam and his team can definitely forge it into reality. I also enjoy that Sam and his team are exceptionally skilled at taking old or damaged but beautiful jewelry and creating something totally new with it. I am very pleased each time I order something, pick up a repair or have a piece redesigned. Celestial Jewel also polishes jewelry correctly. Many stores do not take the time to safely or accurately polish jewelry. No matter what kind of metal you need polished, Celestial Jewel does it correctly. Called around for turnaround times for a simple bracelet resizing and was told a few weeks by most. Here, they quoted me next day. I went right in with my bracelet + a few watches that needed batteries replaced. I was told the bracelet would be done the next morning, and the watches a few days. About an hour later, got a call -- all watches + bracelet complete and at a totally fair price point! Nothing but great things to say overall. I enjoyed my visit, I wasn't there long, the service was quick and fast and Mr. Sam was so nice, he was about to closed when I got there, but he still took the time and waited on me, now that's going above and beyond for me. I came here to have a ring I purchased in Mexico fixed as the "silver" was bent and snagging on my clothes. When I came to pick up the ring, it was apparent the ring that I bought was not in fact silver, so when they cleaned it it had yellowed. I obviously I was upset about the ring, but they worked their magic and turned the ring back to the original "silver" color it was on top of fixing the metal around the stone. They fixed it on the spot while I waited for a couple of minutes. Anyway, despite the issues that arose Sam refused to charge me. Consider my heart touched. While I was there one of the customers noticed I was touched and said "I know that's why he's so popular because of how sweet he is." It's the kindness in peoples heart that make this world go around and his business thrive. I will be back for other jewelry issues and hopefully I won't be bamboozled again when buying "silver" jewelry. But if I am, I will know where to come. read more

Terrible attitude from who I think is the owner. Could sense a negative vibe from the gentleman as soon as I walked through the door. Ever have that feeling you're being judged by the color of skin? I only needed a couple of watch batteries so I thought I would give them a try. The owner Sam was very helpful and courteous. Turned out only my Movado needed a battery and Sam advised to keep an eye on an issue with the TAG. Only charged me for one battery and the advice was free. This place is great. Two thumbs way up. Excellent and affordable jewelry repair. I've taken all kinds of things there -- name brand higher end pieces, lower end costume jewelry, one-of-a-kind ethnic pieces made of weird silver alloys, etc. -- they do a great job with them all.
