Sending out fake lawsuits to underage CHILDREN to shake down families unable to pay their medical bills. If unethical shady immoral business practice took human form, it would be these pricks. Who sues children for unpaid medical bills?? Here's where it gets crazy: I contacted a lawyer about this and we have verified the letter is fake, and there is no pending lawsuit, which is 100% illegal in the state of NJ. Sending a document that looks like a court complaint before it's filed is a violation of 15 U.S.C. § 1692e(13) of the FDCPA, which prohibits: "The false representation or implication that documents are legal process." They are committing a crime just by sending these fake scare tactics out and are sloppily sending them to minors. I am working with the state attorney to see what we can do about these monsters and I don't think this will be around for too long. * IF YOU GET ONE OF THESE ILLEGAL SCARE TACTICS: Immediately call the NJ State legal service dept. and report them for illegal activity at 973-624-4500. You can also request a free attorney and reference violation of 15 U.S.C. § 1692e(13) of the FDCPA, which prohibits the false representation or implication that documents are legal process prior to filing, which is exactly what they are doing. Make note of the bottom corner of their illegal documents that reference the debt collectors reference number. Notice that the "official N Superior Court stamp" on the back (that is supposed to inform you when the lawsuit was filed for your 35 day response) is actually ink jet printed and NOT stamped in a court of law, proving it's fake! Attempting to call them in order to find out about a collection request, I was put on hold multiple times, they would pick up the phone, hit hold, and leave me there for upwards of a half hour to an hour. When I reached out to the receptionist to try and get direct contact, I was spoken to rudely, and disrespectfully. She acts like she's some 90s mobster secretary with a fake brooklyn accent as if she were walking out of My cousin Vinny. From what I've read, seen, and experienced, they're only interested in taking your money. Not interested in following up, connecting with the person they're collecting from, or even validating that the collection is real and not fraudulent. If you are questioning whether they are legitimate or not, or whether the collection is legitimate, I urge sending a Debt Validation request. This is exactly what the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) allows you to do, it forces them to prove the debt is yours and that they have the right to collect it. Do this as a letter to their office, request a receipt. Or follow their email request at: info@csandw-llp.com And because this kind of thing upsets me greatly, here's a usable format for that request: Subject line: Debt Validation Request - (Your Reference Number) Your full name Your address The reference/account number from their notice Statement of Request ( Debt validation request under the FDCPA) Clearly say you are requesting written validation of the debt under the FDCPA. Specific Details You Want to ask for: The original creditor The amount owed Proof that the law firm has the right to collect Communication Restriction Ask them to not contact you by phone until they provide the validation. Close the email out politely. Thank them for their attention and leave your contact info if necessary. When you send a debt validation request to the law firm, they are legally required to pause all collection actions until they provide proof that the debt is valid and that they have the right to collect it. This means they cannot call you, harass you, or demand payment while your request is pending. If they continue contacting you or trying to collect without validating the debt, they would be breaking federal law, and you would have the right to report them to authorities. It's basically a way to make sure the debt is real before you have to pay anything. read more

Echoing everything everyone else has said in here, and want to add: they absolutely make it as hard as possible to make your payments. Example: We have a $2000+ charge with a hospital that ended up being serviced by CSW. We had to argue a lot with the insurance company and by the time we got to the end of that, enough time had passed for this to become a pressing matter. To avoid it becoming a larger legal issue, I called to at least set up a payment plan with CSW. They were more than happy to set it up, but with a catch: They will not set up a recurring payment. I wanted to set up a $20 payment per month on a credit card until we were ready to pay it all off entirely, but they simply wouldn't make it a recurring payment. I also can't log onto their website to pay this bill specifically, so I have to call them every single month to make this damn payment. If I miss a month, it could become a legal matter and a much bigger headache. This is ridiculous. It's like they're setting up as many roadblocks as possible between us and paying off this debt. Luckily I work from home and can take the time during the day to set up reminders and track my payments with them, but if I worked any kind of job with an in-person manager or one where I didn't sit in front of a computer all day, this would be much harder to manage. To be very clear: we have the ability and the will to pay, we just want to have an automatic recurring payment set up. They won't do it. I can't say for sure, but it feels A LOT like they've set this up to encourage missed payments so they can sue and garnish wages. If I could leave zero stars for this firm I would but the only option I have is 1. This review is not on behalf of a collections notice I received like most other reviews, but in regards to services of drawing up a last will and testament. The firm drew up a last will and testament for me and then when I contacted them to update it I was advised they would no longer represent me on the matter. I offered to pay for the update but evidently they didn't want to be bothered. The partner Henry has a very arrogant aura to him when you speak to him in person and makes a point to ensure he seems like the smartest person in the room. I was always taught when someone acts like that they are hiding something and may not be as knowledgeable as they want to be perceived. If you need a last will and testament or any other legal service, I would suggest contacting another firm. read more

You'd think when you want to pay off a debt this collection firm would be excited to take your call. Nope. Disconnected multiple times, excessive hold times (during which you may again be disconnected), payment request has to be submitted in writing (but don't use the fax number on their letterhead, it's "not the right number"), nobody will talk to you on the phone except for the rude receptionists/secretaries who have zero knowledge of anything, and you then have to wait for them to get back to you via MAIL! It is very difficult to actually speak to a representative when calling this law firm. I've tried to reach someone at this firm multiple times and was not able to connect with anyone. You are placed on hold for a very unreasonable amount of time, and spoken to in a very nasty/abusive manner if you do have an opportunity to speak with the receptionist. They clearly do not have any people or customer service skills. I'm wondering if a better way to communicate with this firm is by written correspondence, but I'm not very hopeful about that either. read more
