The experience has been great. It requires commitment, focus, hard work, and actually doing the work. Anton helped me to focus on recovery and building strength so I could care for myself and my baby. But also loose the excess weight that I don't need on my small frame. I've lost 25 lbs since starting the program, and expect to loose more. I will continue to do this program as it's helped me reach a new level of stretch and establish health eating habits.

I've surpassed my original goal weight, lowered my body fat to healthy (nearly athletic) levels, and feel stronger, more toned, and confident. My clothes fit great, and most importantly, I've been able to stay consistent without feeling burned out or restricted. About 4-6 weeks in, it became clear this program was delivering results I hadn't experienced before, even after working with other trainers. Instead of feeling demoralized, I felt motivated and genuinely excited to show up. Working with Anton (at the new Santa Monica location) has been a huge part of that success. He has an incredible focus on form, education, and accountability, delivered in a way that feels supportive, doable, and sustainable. He's kind but firm, without the ego or machismo you often find in this space, and it's clear he and the entire team are invested in real progress, not just selling sessions. I've learned how to balance training, nutrition, and sleep, and how to fine-tune calories and macros in a way that supports my goals without feeling painfully restrictive. Ultimate Performance is professional, clean, and staffed by knowledgeable, friendly people. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's busy but willing to commit, work hard, and build true health and fitness as a lifestyle, and not a quick fix.

This location is larger than the others so it's really spacious. At the SM location I've trained with Martine, Conrad, and Sean and, as usual, all are well trained, know their shit, pay attention, and are fantastic trainers! They keep you motivated. And it's great taking classes from different trainers because each one will give you a little tip that will land different for everyone. So something small, a slight adjustment, might change the way you do a lift for the better. Another reason I love this place. It's not cheap but it's worth it and so are you! I am a regular at the Studio City Lift Society but love visiting this location if I have to be on…read morethe Westside and love having that option. I love this gym and let me count the ways. 1. Clean facilities and everybody gets their own squat rack for an hour. Time is our most precious non renewable resource in our hectic lives. To get in a full body workout without waiting to share equipment and not spend any mental energy and time programming my workouts makes this membership a great value. 2. It's not HIIT, it's pure strength training using barbells and dumbbells. With 2-3 minutes of rest in between sets. 3. The classes are small and maybe 10 people at the most. It is more of a semi private training experience - all the attention and individualized focus of a top trainer with the social benefits of being part of a positive community. 4. Fast Results. Pure and simple. I've done it all: F45, Barry's, Orangetheory, Indoor Cycling, Hot yoga, kickboxing, etc. I am the strongest, leanest I've ever been and because my metabolism has skyrocketed by adding muscle mass, it's so freeing not to watch calories anymore.

I've personally have gone through several surgeries and corrective procedures around my feet and knees; so haphazardly moving through motions mindlessly or following trendy exercise moves would be problematic for my well-being. I've trained with other trainers in the past and through they were good in their own right, what impresses me the most with Fortune's approach is that he actually keeps in mind how ones previous injuries and conditions could be impacting how and why an individual has the holding patterns they do today. He's extremely educated, passionate, and compassionate towards his clients. What inspired me the most was how one day we were training together and I was looking over at a woman who was strong, powerful in her movements and seemed extremely comfortable working with the tools around the gym. I kindly asked Lewis if she was a trainer and he softly smiled and said nope that's my client. I'm so grateful that in my commitment to be diligent with my work out practice I've notice how some of those old nagging pains has vanished! My digestion has significantly improved (I've struggled with digestive challenges since I was a kid), I'm a lot calmer and super aware of how my body holds itself in space. Being a Bodyworker I need to use my physical vessel as a major tool in my practice so my health is a primary focus. I'm so thankful for Lewis help on my journey. I sincerely appreciate his wholistic approach to the mind body and soul, and it's refreshing to know that he actually lives in his practice, and his work reflects it. If you are looking for an amazing trainer that will help you in your journey into wholeness, help you to improve your movement, recharge your temple and transform your mind body and soul, you will have it all with Lewis Fortune III! Commit to your practice, show up for yourself, do the work, and you will enjoy the benefits of it all!! Thank you so much Fortune you are the best!!

My experience…read morebefore with personal training was that it was so all over the place in terms of exercises and techniques that I could never really get it all straight, which led me to walk around the gym aimlessly and confused when I tried to work out on my own. I worked with Lewis for close to a year and got in the best shape of my life! But it doesn't end there. I have been able to maintain my physique because I learned simple and straight-forward techniques that work - no gimmicks or fads. Lewis has taught me an appreciation for the foundation of strength training. His focus and precision have guided me to the exercises that work best for my body and my goals. I couldn't be happier with my results and the information I've learned. Any time anyone comments on my physique or my dedication to fitness I stress the importance of qualified guidance and instruction. I am a walking poster child for the importance of using your time at the gym wisely. You can't just do whatever workout is featured in a magazine this week - it's a waste of your time. If you want quality results you need to spend quality time working on it.

A friend recommended this Sparta Academy so I called and spoke with one of the instructors. Mind you, I was already sold by my friend's recommendation and I wanted to sign up for the annual package that day. I called and was polite over the phone but right off the bat the guy was already annoyed by me calling. I asked if they taught street self defense such as how to defend yourself against an armed attacker with a knife, gun, 2X4, etc. and he became very rude after that. As if that question was offensive but to the other Martial art gyms I called that question didn't phase them. I didn't think that was an out of pocket question because I have been to gyms that solely focus on MMA cage fighting and they do not teach you how to disarm weapons from an attacker. Another important question I had was the parking since in LA it's insane finding street parking and I told him that I am very big on being on time. Then he threw a light insult at me insinuating that I must be late all the time for me to ask that. The final jab for me was when he told me that they have a parking structure available for their students located at the plaza their gym is at so I drive down there after the call and was still willing to sign up but as I pulled in to the parking lot the tenant yelled and stopped me telling me I cannot park down there then I told him I was trying to get to Sparta Academy and the tenant said that I needed to find parking on the street. I drove around and I couldn't find street parking for 15+ minutes so I just left and went to another MMA gym located 45 minutes away from me and just signed up with their annual package instead just because they were kind. It sucks because I just got a bad vibe all around from this gym and I pass it everyday since it's right near me. I was excited but I guess god really didn't want me to go here. It's like a fat person walking into the gym, if the receptionist is hostile over the phone they will go somewhere else that is inviting even if its a farther drive.
