After getting her through surgery and immediate rehabilitation, we moved her to Beacon Crest for respite. She had barely spent a week there when I received the call. "I love it here, and I want to move here permanently." While I thought this was a brilliant idea, I suggested she give it a few weeks to make sure. She called me exactly two weeks later, and we made the arrangements. Why Beacon Crest Senior Living? When I walked into Beacon Crest, I felt like I was walking into a resort. Spacious rooms, elegantly designed. Bright sunlit common areas welcome you to spend time with your parent. The food tastes like you are in a fine dining restaurant. When I looked at the other residents, they looked joyful. It was nothing like the homes I had seen before. In the past, I have volunteered at a variety of senior living communities. I have found many to be disconcerting. There is often a high ratio of residents to caregivers, a depressing atmosphere: and, let's face it, a strange smell when you walk in. Beacon Crest is like nothing you have seen before. It is incredible! My family and I would like to thank the staff for the gentle care, continued kindness, and professional knowledge they bring to each day. My mom has made a community of friends and has found her second family. She enjoys delicious meals each day, receives the care she needs, and most importantly, is thriving. Thank you, Beacon Crest, for going well above and beyond in caring for our mom. If you are considering senior living communities, do yourself a favor and visit this place!

My mom has dementia Loui body. I never thought about this illness much until my mom was diagnosed…read morewith the illness. To find out, there is a lot of families out there that has gone out going through this with one of their love ones. It was very tough for me at first. I tried so hard to let my mom stay with me during her transition and dealing with the illness. It was not just hard on me but also hard on my wife and kid. Was so worried to leave her alone because didn't want her to do anything to hurt herself. I tried getting a Inhome care for her while we was at work. It did help us out a little, but then when we got home from work it was tough because we had to give her all of our attention. I finally decided after she was approved for Medicaid and social security that I'll would put her in a memory care facility. It was best for her And my family. It was a lot safer that way. She can get all the cars she needed 24/7 . If something was to happen, at least there was someone there to help her. So I looked around town at many many places and visited them. Carrington court was the one for her. It's like a hotel when you first walk in. Tina was awesome when I came to check out the place. They also take them on field trips every Monday Bus ride around down) . They also do events and fun stuff at the State Fair and the zoo etc. They hold holiday dinners at Carrington court every year for family and friends to come. They usually always pick up when I call to check up on her. Her personal doctor that usually come check up on her once a week always contacts me and give me up dates and ask if I have any concerns. They have shared rooms or they also have a single room for them. It's a nice sizes rooms. Even the shared rooms are a decent size. I would totally recommend Carrington Court for your love ones.

The place is clean, very pretty, but the CNA staff have no business in this population. They have no relevancy to what the residents are going through, much less how to handle them. They have no understanding of adults or adult life. Or, how to handle adult and aging issues. Better training is a desperate need here. If your loved one is still sharp and just needs a little assistance, this is the place for them, if they need nurturing, caring, adult assistance, keep looking.

BEWARE!!!! OVERDOSED MY MOTHER IN JUST 4 DAYS…read moreREMOVED POA AS CONTACT ILLEGALLY ILLEGAL/POOR MEDICAL DECISIONS AND CARE STANDARDS My mother was at The Peaks/Pheasant Run for four days. On Monday I admitted my mother with my father as her Power of Attorney (POA). I am a physician and I have been her POA for decades. On Tuesday, my mother was left alone in a wheelchair and faceplanted on the hard floor, leaving a huge bump and laceration on her forehead. On Wednesday my sister lied to the facility and told a nurse that I am NOT the POA and they believed her instead of looking at the admission paperwork which included the legal document. They also did not call me or my father to notify us that my sister was claiming that I was not the POA. Instead, they removed my contact info from the facesheet without notifying me and put my sister's info instead. She then called the doctor and asked him to prescribe morphine every few hours even though my mother was not a morphine user. The doctor prescribed it. On Thursday, after SEVENTEEN doses of morphine, ativan and haldol in the previous 24 hours, my mother was found on the floor dead. This is a shocking escalation of morphine and other medications that would likely kill anyone and I had no idea my mother was receiving these medications. Medical records show that at 8:00 pm on Thursday my mom was noted "lethargic" and then a Med Tech, not a nurse and not allowed to "assess a patient" and also not allowed to give morphine without orders from a nurse (not noted in med records), gave my mom morphine, ativan and haldol. At 11:00 pm my mom was found dead on the floor. The Peaks is a shell company run by another LLC owned yet by another LLC and the main LLC keeps opening up facilities under different names. The paperwork I signed was from Pheasant Run. BEWARE.
