After getting her through surgery and immediate rehabilitation, we moved her to Beacon Crest for respite. She had barely spent a week there when I received the call. "I love it here, and I want to move here permanently." While I thought this was a brilliant idea, I suggested she give it a few weeks to make sure. She called me exactly two weeks later, and we made the arrangements. Why Beacon Crest Senior Living? When I walked into Beacon Crest, I felt like I was walking into a resort. Spacious rooms, elegantly designed. Bright sunlit common areas welcome you to spend time with your parent. The food tastes like you are in a fine dining restaurant. When I looked at the other residents, they looked joyful. It was nothing like the homes I had seen before. In the past, I have volunteered at a variety of senior living communities. I have found many to be disconcerting. There is often a high ratio of residents to caregivers, a depressing atmosphere: and, let's face it, a strange smell when you walk in. Beacon Crest is like nothing you have seen before. It is incredible! My family and I would like to thank the staff for the gentle care, continued kindness, and professional knowledge they bring to each day. My mom has made a community of friends and has found her second family. She enjoys delicious meals each day, receives the care she needs, and most importantly, is thriving. Thank you, Beacon Crest, for going well above and beyond in caring for our mom. If you are considering senior living communities, do yourself a favor and visit this place!

Nurse did not perform an actual physical assessment on the client, yet insisted on a much higher level of care (costs more $$) because "she's 93!" Would not honor doctor's order for handling her own medications. Not only took that control but that cost more $$ too. Beautiful facility but rooms are not all ADA accessible. We were lucky to discover all of this before we made the mistake of moving my family member there!

There's a bunch of coordinated things to do and fresh cut flowers on Friday. The biggest issue with this place is staff coordination, and the leadership is not accountable for anything . Most of the residents fear the head nurse at this place and she does not follow through when you ask her to do something. If I came and checked on my mom or any other resident, they're all pretty much suffering on Sunday because no one's there to take care of them. Also, the food is way better at other places unless you like soft mush. If I owned this place, I would fire the head coordinator, the nurse and the main chef, buy some lighting for this dark facility and get someone in there who knows how to care for people and coordinate staff! I know it's in a great location near Holladay and near where a lot of people live but please look elsewhere!

The staff at this facility is so compassionate and caring that I know, without a doubt, that my father is getting the best care. When I arrive to see him, he is alway dressed and well groomed. He is well fed and the meals are delicious and nourishing. The rooms at the Namaste center are beautiful and spacious. The facility does NOT smell of urine or other unwelcome odors. Every staff member knows my name and is genuinely is happy to see me when I come to visit. They care for my dad like they would care for a member of their own family. The nurses at this facility are angles of mercy in every way. If you are looking for memory care for a loved one, this is the place. I highly recommend Crescent Namaste Memory Care.

We went with Sunrise because they claim that they could manage this patient population. Over the next several week it was clear that we made the wrong choose, they where nothing more than a nursing home with locked doors. The CNA were not qualified in memory care as Sunrise had claimed, talking to the state I found out that Sunrise only meets the minimal state requirement to be licensed as a nursing home. To be classified as a dementia unit they are required to have a physician on staff and nurses 24/7. Sunrise does not meet either of those they do not have a physician on staff and only an R.N. 8 hours 5 days a week. After 3 weeks we parted ways, I was called 5 time by security at 1 am because they could not handle my 93 year old mother. I had to sit with her all night until I had to go to work, then on Christmas eve at 4 pm they discharged her again because they did not know how to handle her. We had to take her home, because they did not give us time to find another facility or make any other arrangements. We had to leave all of her furniture, and personal items and pick them up 3 days later. Please kept in mind that somehow security was involved with my moms care not the nursing staff when they were having trouble it was security that called me never the memory unit . Please understand that a dementia unit and memory care are two different units, these memory care places would like you to believe they are the same thing. Beware !!
