The price was incredible for an entire cabin to yourself; equipped with a shower, bathroom, kitchen, fridge, stove, and natural gas heater that quickly and efficiently heats up the area. There was a little table and chairs, lots of electrical outlets, and a TV! The owners are very friendly and neighborly. They have covid protocols in place and the cabin was perfectly clean upon entry. There are multiple restaurants around the area. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a bar open until 1 AM. We drove to nearby cities (1 to 2 hour drives in either direction) and the landscape is absolutely gorgeous in the winter. I can't recommend this business enough! I will be bringing my friends here when covid is over for a week long trip! The bathroom is very small and doesn't have a mirror; the stove is small; cutlery and plates are offered in the cupboards; what I'm trying to say is, don't expect fancy. It's a cabin, not a chalet or a resort. The basic necessities are provided; it's warm, it's dry, it's cozy. You might feel just in between "roughing it" and being in a hotel. My friends aren't big fans of camping in the middle of nowhere without washrooms like I am, so this is a good balance of rustic wilderness and comfort.

Any deer that happened to wander by...well, we wouldn't have to rush to see them because they'd probably be run over by one of the trucks that rush by and be quite dead. Luckily we didn't see any. The rooms although dated are sizable and homey. The bed was comfortable. The comforter on the bed was a nice thickness. It's still cold at night in Princeton in April. There were no issues in the room being either way too hot or to cold. My fridge worked well. They don't have a bath but the shower is fine and it's nice and hot. The area is super quiet. As I'm from the city I actually struggled with that and ended up sleeping with the tv on. The pricing was superb. If you get up early enough you can watch the deer playing by the volleyball area. If I needed to stay in Princeton again I would stay here again, the place had nice charm about it.

This place proved to be a large pain in the butt for me. Admittedly…read morethe travel agent, booking.com, contributed to the problem, but it seems that absent the policies of the motel owner, there would never have been a problem. Through booking.com I reserved a room at Villager Inn for the next night, paid for one night's stay and received a "confirmation". The next morning I received a phone call informing me that my "confirmed" reservation was cancelled due to overbooking presumably by the motel owner. I was offered a chance to book at another place in Princeton but by the time I could get online, that slot had disappeared. To his credit, the owner claimed he would cover any cost difference but I was able to procure a room on my own at approximately the same price as his/hers. So, here's the problem. The owner has an unstated policy of overbooking. He/she also has a cancellation penalty - one night's payment for cancellation. This sets up a very nice (for the owner) situation wherein a room could potentially draw two night's rent in one night. Sweet - have your cake and eat it too. Adding to this hypocrisy, I pre-paid for the room that I never got but between the owner and the agent, it took about five days to get my money back for the contract that the owner broke; totally unacceptable.
