This church is really nice. Biblical sermons and the people are genuinely kind and make you feel loved. They radiate Christ here!

I found this church through a web engine search, and when we started going we fell in love with it…read more Why? 1) The preaching! Faithful to the Word; unapologetic truth that points us to the compassion and mercy we have received. All sermons (from old and New Testament) show how Jesus' sufficient job on the cross is the a-z of the Bible (and really the core of life ). 2) The people! A group of people that know they are broken, don't pretend, and are there for you when you fall and are in the dumps. They eat with you, pray with you, cry with you, mourn with you, are goofy with you, admonish you, encourage you, and plainly walk through life with you. We left the church when we had to move to another country, but I wouldn't have left otherwise! Miss my New Life family!!! But the Lord is always faithful and I have a new church family in Canada now If you're on the fence about checking it out, don't be! Just go! Try it out a few times and then decide. You don't need to be a Christian. If you're a Muslim, a atheist, an agnostic, a Hindu, whatever you wanna call it, but you wanna find out more about Jesus or Christianity, you're welcome there!

Reposting my old review from 2012 since we've moved and had to create a new Yelp page. Since then…read morethe church has been growing rapidly under God's provision, and we are now at a new location with more space! We now also have an assistant pastor, Rich, who's been such a blessing to New Life. Since Rich's arrival, we've witnessed a huge growth in young adults ministry. - Though I'm sure people will only write good stuff about their own church, I want to first let you all know that I am going to be as unbiased as possible in the following review. I found New Life back in April through a pastor I'd met in Palo Alto. I had just moved back home from New York, and while looking for a church to settle in, the pastor suggested this church that is fairly new in my neighborhood. Since it was a pastor I trusted, I decided to give it a try. It couldn't hurt - it was only a few minutes from my house! Though I was at a very confusing stage in my life when I first started attending this church, I was able to settle in without feeling uncomfortable, thanks to the friendly, non-intimidating environment that is not too in-your-face. Seven months later, I am still attending the church. I have experienced a slow but visible growth in my faith, through the loving and supportive community, as well as Pastor Dave's sermons which are always on-point. The vibe of the community is very fun, friendly, yet intimate. Pastor Dave's sermons are intellectual and witty, but never straying away from the very core of the gospel. Though it is a fairly small church, there is an order that cannot be ignored. I believe this is a reflection of the gospel-centeredness of the church. This allows the church members to be accountable and supportive towards one another. What I love the most about NLMC is how welcoming and accepting everyone is towards newcomers who are still questioning their faith or have never even been to church. I have been to churches where there's the "inner circle" of people who grew up in that church their whole lives, but this church does not question or judge your faith; instead they provide you with some insights and guidance to understanding Christ. The congregation is mostly young married couples or young parents, but there still is a younger single crowd. The church vibe is still very young, and the church is very responsive to the younger crowd, so it'd be nice to see it grow more. Anyways, I suggest everyone to check out the church just for two weeks. I know that everyone feels differently about different churches, but I am pretty confident this one will make you feel safe as a place to grow in your faith.

They were welcoming in the beginning as every church is, but it slowly became radical. It made you feel that it was their role to distinguish "true believers" by pushing membership (non-biblical). I was looking for a church that had right theology and doctrine, but after this experience it made me realize that strict doctrine and adherence to rules can mask flaws in their fruit (ex: Steven Lawson). There is a pattern of manipulating scripture verses to portray certain agendas. I challenge anyone reading this to discern their teachings, if they are Biblical. The church is modeled after John MacArthur's (RIP), no wonder: https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/1ktnxo5/a_warning_to_christians_who_follow_john/ Matthew 7:16: Are these teachings/behaviors Biblical? Whether it's the sermons or the Bible study groups, NLCC teaches you the entirety of the Bible accurately and faithfully. It is such a joy to see the pastors put so much time and care into preparing God's Word for us each week. And even more encouraging to see them living out the Word so faithfully. I have so many great things to say about NLCC, but I'll try to narrow it down to a list of things that I have personally been blessed by: * Discipleship - It is strongly encouraged at this church. I have been discipled for over 2 years now, and it has been such an edifying experience. * Community Groups - Every Friday we are able to spend time with others over dinner and a Bible study lesson. This has been an amazing way for us to get to know other people in the church much more intimately. * Men's Ministry - Every month I have the opportunity to spend time with the other men in the church. We usually go over topics/struggles that pertain specifically to men and discuss how we can strive to grow in these areas. My wife would say the same for the Women's Ministry as well! * Serving - As a smaller church, there are tons of opportunities to serve and get plugged in. I have had the privilege of serving in the AV (Audio Visual) Ministry and the College Ministry extensively. On top of all these ways to get plugged in, I'm also always so grateful for how much this community cares for and loves one another. It has overall been a tremendous blessing to be a part of this church!

They have a testimony sharing time that opens our eyes to the powerful works and miracles God is still doing in the lives of His children even to today. The sermons are Biblically based with frequent Scripture read-alongs via overhead screens. Nothing beats the power of reading and hearing the Word itself!!! To pack all of this in, it takes about a couple of hours during Sunday Morning service. The pastors and congregation are very friendly. Although the morning service is fully in English, there is a Tagalog service in the afternoon. Being an English speaker, I've only attended the morning service. I strongly recommend visiting Living Hope church - where you can seek the Lord in Spirit and truth while watching the sunlight steam through historic stained glass windows, pondering God's majesty.

Well, for starters, Sundays begin at 11am and our Church is a non-denominational self-functioning traditional Christian Church, or part of the E.F.C.A. We believe in God, Jesus as His Son and the Holy Spirit as the Trinity and the death and resurrection of Jesus on the Cross for our sins and eternal Heaven and life with God for the saved. There are light refreshments available on campus at Church on Sunday mornings (lemonade, water, coffee, tea, donuts) and three main buildings A, B, and C; B having a recently renovated children's unit. The English ministry is in building A, and it usually goes a little something like this: 1. Praise and Worship, 2. Sermon by the Pastor, 3. Prayer and Announcements, 4. Excusal and buildings C and B also include Mandarin, Filipino, Deaf, Telugu, and youth services as well as Special Needs Bridges Crew. I personally love going to a Church where all are welcome, no matter your walk with God, whether doubting, fledgling, there is no clear-cut Christianity in my book! You either are for God or you're against Him. Because God loves me so much He sent His Son Jesus Christ, born of Mary who was a virgin and the Holy Ghost's power and He really is my Savior, Messiah, Savior, Light of my Life, Light of my World, and God gives me the strength to carry on in a burdensome world. We can ask for anything in Jesus' Name and if it aligns with God's will for us, He can make it happen! God loves you!! There is nothing you have done, said, thought, nothing at all that can't be erased at the Cross at Jesus Christ's blood on the Cross, He defeated death and rose again 3 days later so we can spend Eternity with Him in Heaven! That, my friends, is the good news of Christ Jesus. That is our Gospel and our Good News. Thank you, community, family, for fellowship, for loving and praying to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Jesus, let's keep us all accountable and dig into God's Word, the Holy Bible not because we are forced to but because we want to. Thanks for the grace, mercy, compassion, love, faith, thanks for everything! See you Sunday!
