Cabins of the Smoky Mountains - also known as Gatlinburg Falls Resort and other names…read more My group checked into the cabin referred to as Mountain Theatre Lodge which boast of the below: Spacious Accommodations: The lodge features five well-appointed bedrooms, including king and queen beds, along with additional sleeping options to comfortably host up to 14 guests. My Review: This boasts that you can comfortably sleep up to 14 guests in one area- 24 in another, slightly confusing but let's do the math -5 king beds sleep 10, 2 queen bunks sleep 8 total, & 3 sleeper sofas sleep 6, so that would be 24 -no idea why it contradicts itself - possibly to have a crutch to lean on with all the accommodations they don't actually offer. Let's talk about the 3 queen sofa beds, this is only true if you plan to bring your own pillows, blankets & sheets for the pullout couches as not only are none provided but they tell you they will bring some & finally bring them ON THE LAST DAY ... make that make sense. Overall, the house was clean but very damaged-except for the showers which looked like they had not been cleaned at all. Soap wrapper was actually left in one of them. As far as sleep, I hope you don't want to sleep past the sunrise on your vacation as there are NO BLINDS or CURTAINS in almost every room from the back side- bright & early the sun is in your face; no curtains at all on the front side of the house which doesn't help much with the temperature in the summer. Let's talk about washcloths/towels. AT A MINIMUM, we should have been left 24 (since that is what the house sleeps) AT A MINIMUM. We were left 12. Not even enough for everyone that it supposedly sleeps. We called &asked for more, as with everything else, it showed up ON THE LAST DAY. Private Home Theater: Enjoy movie nights in your own theater room, equipped with a large screen and comfortable seating for a cinematic experience. My Review: Comfortable Seating is pushing it but we can live with that, what you can't live with is not even being able to watch anything on the TV "theater" due to the fact that in our 4 nights there, we had internet access for POSSIBLY 6 hours total. We called, texted, & emailed regarding internet service, was told multiple times that a service call was entered-they would get someone out to the cabin. No one EVER came to attempt to fix this issue. Entertainment Options: The game room is equipped with a pool table, air hockey, and arcade games, ensuring entertainment for guests of all ages. My Review: Air Hockey table was unable to be used because the pusher was broken, I called, texted, & emailed about this within the first few hours of arrival, was told they would have a pusher out the next morning;the pusher was finally brought out on our last day. There are NO arcade games. Relaxation Amenities: Unwind in the private hot tub on the deck or relax in the cozy living area after a day of adventure My Review: the hot tub and living area are nice as suggested, however if you look at the photos and think, wow this porch with this swing & rocking chairs look so relaxing and I cannot wait for that .... well wait, there is no longer a swing and the 2 rocking chairs that are out there (so not as many as are shown online) are smaller than shown on the photos & very rickety. Modern Conveniences: The cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, complimentary Wi-Fi, and multiple flat-screen TVs with cable/satellite channels. My Review: kitchen is fine, washer and dryer are fine, wifi is non-existent as mentioned above which makes it hard to classify this rental as a "theatre", there is NO CABLE or SATELLITE on ANY TV in the entire cabin. The only TV's that you could even watch while we were there were the two smart TV's that you could connect to your own personal Netflix or other account and that was only for the few hours that we had Wifi to do so. The TV's in the room were POINTLESS. Outdoor Features: Take advantage of the charcoal BBQ grill and deck seating for outdoor dining and relaxation. My Review: you will not see a photo of this grill online, but let me help you with that, it is the $19.99 rickety grill from Walmart that you can put like 4 burgers on at a time. PLEASE SEE PHOTO FOR THE LAST OF MY REVIEW AS HAVING NO WORKING AIR FOR OVER 24 HOURS WAS A FINAL ISSUE.

We were right next to the creek, so the back door of the RV was maybe 5' from a wonderful creek. Sites were extremely neat and well laid out. The wifi was so-so but there were some many other ways of finding out what to do without Internet. The trolleys ran all day and night. Pretty good value for $.50. Couple of tips: make sure you have quarters for laundry, no change machine, ask for a creek site they are awesome even thought there is a 4 lane highway above you and try the Hungry bear BBQ down the street for a carry out meal. 5 minutes away and Greta food. We will be back ASAP!

Honest Review of Our Recent Campground Stay We recently…read morestayed at this campground, and while the setting itself is nice--open, sunny, and generally well-maintained--our overall experience came with several disappointments. When I went to make our reservation in person, I was surprised to be met with immediate objections. The staff told me they do not take single-night bookings (only two nights or more) and even questioned whether they could accommodate us at all. This was confusing since, looking around, the park was over 80% vacant. When I asked why they couldn't fit us in, the explanation was that six other reservations were coming in that night. Even with that, there was still plenty of open space, so it felt odd to be turned away or made to feel unwelcome. The whole interaction left me with the impression that they simply didn't want more guests since they mentioned the park would be closing for the season soon. During our stay, we also ran into another issue. After spending a couple of nights there, we asked if we could leave our van parked for a couple of hours while we went into town for breakfast, but were told that wasn't allowed. Again, the campground was mostly empty, so it was hard to understand why such strict policies were enforced. We've visited this area almost every year and had hoped to make this campground one of our regular stays--especially now that we own an RV--but the repeated objections and rigid rules really changed our minds. A few other things to note: the creek sites may sound appealing, but they sit directly behind a busy road, so traffic noise is constant. And although the campground advertises itself as dog-friendly, the designated dog area is quite small, and dogs aren't allowed to sit with you on the patio, which is disappointing for pet owners. Overall, it's a nice place, but the overly restrictive policies and unwelcoming atmosphere make it hard to recommend, and we will definitely look elsewhere in the future.

There were no hangars in the house to hang our clothes (why have closets?) 2. There were 10 bars of soap and no shampoo or conditioner anywhere 3. None of the windows had curtains. Very strange for bedrooms not to have them. 4. We weren't told not to drink the water until we arrived and read the book. Had to buy. 5. There's a washer and dryer but no laundry detergent 6. There were large spider webs everywhere outside the house (poor showing) 7. There were spider webs inside the house, even in the master shower. Need dustmop. 8. Several outside light bulbs were inop. Poor attention to detail. 9. Main floor shower door is installed incorrectly. Doesn't close, no water seal. Poor. 10. There's a coffeemaker but no coffee - paperweight. 11. Main floor bathroom sink has no stopper, just a hole. I paid almost $450/night to rent the cabin. I think that should more than cover my expectations above. Having coffee, shampoo, laundry detergent, hangars, and other consumables is a minimum standard for a lodging rental. If water isn't potable, there should be a few bottles of water to start the guests off and give them time to shop. Curtains or shades should be installed for light control as well as privacy. Other family members can see in from decks, plus most people don't want morning sun right away when they wake up. Shower door installation tells me that shoddy workmanship was used in construction. Glad I'm not the owner. Final note: we arrived and checked out the house and views from the balconies. After reading the guest book, we looked for bears down below. When we returned after dinner in town, we found that someone had placed about 6-8 bread slices on the ground below the cabin balconies. I assume it was to attract bears. The strange thing is that there are no neighbors anywhere nearby, and the area "down below" wouldn't have access by anyone else. Strange.
