Don't hire Roy Rohwedder from R & K Property Solutions in Cedar Rapids, IA (also doing business as RoCo so he doesn't have to report income to his ex...he is getting divorced). We didn't know this when we thought we were hiring a crew with a legitimate license. Years earlier we hired a contractor to put in a new garage. We vetted and got referrals and they did a great job! So we didn't think twice at having the subcontractor who asked if he could do our siding and our porch. He pursued us for 2 years. They started work in early March and are still not done and it is mid-July. We thought we had hired a crew but in reality it was just one guy named Roy Rohwedder from R & K Property Solutions. He was doing our house as side job although we never knew that. All checks were made out to him directly instead of the company name. When we did get a receipt the letterhead said RoCo. This made no sense and turned out to be an imaginary company. Roy had no crew ever...just him. Once in a while he would get a buddy or his girlfriend to help (all unqualified). He did our house as a side job where he could pocket all the money. We trusted him because he had helped build our garage under the close watch of his boss. Now he was acting as his own boss so no one over him watching his work. The work was done horribly making shortcuts and using subpar quality materials. The invoice said our house would be wrapped in Tyvek. But our house was wrapped in 3 different papers. I asked him why and he said they ran out. In reality he was giving us the leftovers from other jobs. Most days he didn't show up, had excuses or just lied to us outright. We bought composite planks. He put them down and left some cracked, missing screws, too many screws or with some sticking out. Plugs were put in cutting half of them off. It was ridiculous and looked like children had done the work. I paid for composite rails but he wanted us to pick something else. We paid for composite and wanted composite. He did it but left holes, uneven cuts and covered his sloppiness with trim. Half the time trying to cover his mistakes with trim on top of more trim. All along we pointed out all his mistakes we wanted fixed. When it came time to putting something up to hide under the deck he was going to put up lattice without asking. I told him I wanted composite boarding, so he did reluctantly. For a gate he wanted us to buy an indoor baby gate (can you imagine). I told him we wanted a composite gate. He said he called and couldn't find one. I had spoken to Home Depot and they said they had 3 in stock. So I went over and bought it. This came out of our pocket at almost $200.00 lWhen I got home I walked over to him and handed it to him. I was really mad by now and knew this was going to end with us getting unprofessionally done siding and porch. We had paid him (and his imaginary crew that wasn't) $13,000.00 so far. The more we complained the more lies we heard, excuses, no shows, ghosting us, etc. Fact was he didn't care how bad his work looked and took no pride in his work. Personally I think he was also very lazy. He was always on his phone and always had a cigarette in his hand. We called a different contractor and they were dumbfounded with eyes rolling at the horrible job he had done. I will be contacting the BBB, leaving reviews, calling the news (investigative) to warn others and perhaps seeking legal counsel. Do NOT NOT NOT hire Roy Rohwedder from R & K Property Solutions (aka as RoCo which doesn't exist). You could end up defrauded like he did to us. We now have to pay another contractor to finish what he left undone. They also have to remove siding, trim and railing he did sloppy and careless.

Then they blocked me from their page from leaving a review or commenting as well as on Messenger. Here is the whole story if you want the specifics--I had requested moving 2 tvs combined with my using the dump truck to fill for junk hauling and was given an purchase price and paid upon arrival of the dump trailer. I found two other small tvs and had loaded them as well but then was told they charge 50 dollars extra per tv because the landfill "charges more because we are a business". I agreed to take the other 2 smaller tvs back myself that were not included in thw original quote and thought we had things worked out until they then returned to my door and said that I had to take a larger tv out and claimed i had been quoted for a smaller one. --and then went on to say that they were charged by the dimensions of the tv and they had previously said that it was 50 dollars no matter what size--the story changed many times as to what they could take and the way the landfill charged them. After reviewing the Facebook messenger conversation they agreed that i did not say it was a smaller tv...i had said lighter...still they would not take it and opted to take my smaller tv and leave the larger one with me. This was incredibly frustrating as the large tvs were the primary purpose for getting the dump truck I started a review on facebook but then decided to rewrite it (actually was going to note the few positives in the experience--one being timeliness). So deleted it and by the time I went back to review again just a few minutes later they had blocked me from commenting and sending messages to them or putting in my review. This is no way to do business. Apparently they only want the good reviews or comments on their Facebook page. And in looking at the positive reviews one is the one i wrote the check to and another has the same last name. Beware of this company.
