Seven of my friends and I planned a three day, two night summer trip here, and we had an absolute blast!!It was definitely the highlight of my summer and will always be one of the most memorable experiences we've shared together, especially since most of us have been friends for over a decade. Jak was absolutely outstanding. Every single meal was prepared with so much thought and care, taking into account each guest's preferences, tastes, and the overall vibe of the group. He was so accommodating with us indecisive teenagers and maintained an amazing attitude the entire time. He made the place feel like home through the fun, interesting conversations we had with him, not only about his dishes and food, but about life in general. And the food... oh my goodness. Every. Single. Meal. Was phenomenal. We genuinely had zero complaints. Everything was simply perfection. Gabe and Garrett were the perfect guide duo for our trip. There were so many hilarious conversations and jokes, and never a dull moment with either of them. They answered the countless questions we had about the animals, the landscape, and even taught the beginners how to fish. They were incredibly patient with all of us, especially during the shooting activities, and were seemed bothered by our different skill levels. Since there were eight of us, we all wanted to go tubing, and they stepped in without hesitation, always willing to lead the group. They were extremely accommodating, understanding, and as helpful as they could possibly be whenever we needed anything. Chris was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and intentional withw everything he did. He walked each and every one of us through the shooting activities, knowing that many of us were complete beginners and some had never even held a gun before. The patience, wisdom, and leadership he showed throughout the experience is something I think all of us will remember, even long after this trip. He didn't just teach us how to use the firearms. He also taught us about gun safety, which is something we'll carry with us for years to come. Overall, the food, activities, accommodations, guest service, and hospitality were exceptional. 100000/10. Wow just wow!!! Me and 8 other friends stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights, and we couldn't have asked for a better trip! Everything there, the place, food, and activities was absolute perfection, definitely the highlight of my summer with countless memories made that I'll cherish forever. I want to start off by thanking Jak, our chef. We couldn't have asked for a better person for the job. He always took our opinions into consideration, asking us for feedback, and taught us little snippets of how the cuisine was made and where it came from. Don't even get me started on the food he made!! Everything was so thoughtful and made with so much care, genuinely the best food I've ever had. To Gabe and Garrett, thank you for answering the million questions we had about any animal, building, and overall skills that we learned. I lovedddd feeding the animals and getting to interact with them. Y'all were so patient and we couldn't have asked for better guides. Thank you guys for teaching me how to fish and go tubing, it was such a blast!! To Chris, thank you for teaching us the safety and procedures of how to handle a gun. I've never handled anything like that in my life and he made me feel safe and comfortable with every step. His attention to detail really stood out to me and makes me want to get better for the next time I go! Genuinely this is the best place to go with friends or family. Thank you to Gabe, Garrett, Chris, Jack, and the Cedar Cove Ranch team for such an amazing experience. The Ranch and Cabins were beautiful with animals roaming around and we got to be right by the lake. The food was delicious everytime and the activies such as tubing, the shooting range, and the UTV tour were all incredibly fun. If I could leave less than one star, I would. They charged our group and additional $880 because we took a few blankets off of beds from another part of the property to use in the Grand Chateau. Here is their reasoning: "Unfortunately since the Lakeview rooms were entered and used without the staff knowing we have to charge for the rooms and cleaning fees associated." When we told them the rooms weren't actually used, just blankets taken, they responded with "Since they were entered and linens were removed without notifying our staff we unfortunately have to charge for them." So what exactly warranted an additional $880 fee on top of the $400 cleaning fee already associated with the rental? Look at the pics. This is how they treat repeat customers, ones who were literally planning their next group trip there before this fiasco. I strongly recommend against giving this group any business given how they have treated our group during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cedar Cove is unwilling to work with you and entirely inflexible when things out of your control occur that require you to cancel plans, such as a Global Pandemic. We planned a Bachelor party there the weekend of March 19-22 with a group of 12. A week before going, the federal government, CDC, and World Health Organization all strongly advised against traveling for vacation and against gatherings of larger than ten. We would be traveling from several states, including North Dakota and Minnesota, through DFW and to Eustace. Accordingly, we asked Cedar Cove to work with us in canceling our plans. I get married in June so we wouldn't be able to reschedule, unfortunately. Their contract allows them to consider refunding your price should unforeseen events occur such as a crisis or a death in the family. I'd say the COVID-19 pandemic fits the bill, but not Cedar Cove. We're not even looking for a 100% refund as we understand everyone has some costs but these people were entirely unwilling to consider any refund of any kind of our lodging and activity package. Several in our group stand to have their pay cut or to lose their jobs entirely yet Cedar Cove remains committed to keeping all of our money. I saw an advertisement for a doe hunt last year, so I called and scheduled a hunt for December 10th. I arrived a little early and met with Arlon and his guide. We were standing around talking about the stands and locations. I asked Arlon how many doe tags they had. He said they do not have doe tags! I said you are MLD correct? He said no we dropped it. I told him it was not doe season! He said sure it is! I told him to look it up I could be wrong. He pulled out his phone and said you are right. I said Ok what now. He said Well you can take a buck. He asked if I knew how to age deer. I advised I do. He asked me not to take anything younger than a 4.5-year-old. I wrote Arlon a check and paid for the hunt in full. The guide took me to a stand, I saw one 2.5-year-old buck. He came and picked me up, Arlon met us at my truck. He told me to come back another day and try again. The guide gave me his number so I could set up a time. I called him a few days later and he said he did not work there anymore to call Arlon! I called talk to Arlon we agreed on a date for me to come back out. I met up with Arlon we talked about deer movement looked at some camera footage. He took me to a stand dropped me off. At 5:15 I sent Arlon a text and asked when the feeder was set to go off. He said it was set to go off at 5:00. The feeder never went off I never saw a deer. He came and got me and showed me pictures from another stand and said, "you should have hunted this stand look at this buck". I said you would want me to shoot that deer. He said sure. I said that deer is 3.5 years old I thought you only wanted 4.5-year-old deer taken. He said, oh he is. I left not happy at all. He told me to come back and hunt again. I could not make it last year. He told me I could come hunt this year and take a doe. I called to make the appointment and his assistant told me it would be an additional two hundred dollars this year. She told me to call Arlon and discuss the difference in price with him. I called and asked do you remember the whole fiasco we had last year? He said I do. I asked if he would honor the price from last year. He said he could not prices had gone up! Not good business in my opinion. read more

We are returning customers, 3rd time to be exact, not to mention we brought other guest to come stay on the property who also paid for their stay. This place has gone so far downhill it's sad and I'm really upset on the outcome. This was my baby girls 3rd birthday party and my friends husbands 40th birthday celebration, which they were fully aware of. Not only were we not able to book any attractions that we expressed were important because they apparently don't have anyone to do them, the didn't even accommodate the necessary sleeping items for the amount of people allowed for the reservation that again they were fully aware of. Not realizing until it's time to lay down, there's no blankets for the kiddos and no one around to get blankets, we decided to go into the suites nearby that no one is booked in to grab some blankets for our children to sleep!! These people charged us $880 for blankets for our children which should have been provided!! When we contacted them about this charge they said they were charging us for entering the rooms I guess thinking we stayed in them!! When we told them you have cameras all over the property, which it clearly states everywhere, check them we got blankets for our children because there were none and that's it!! The guy that came the next day, their only employee, even told us that it was ok and told the owner that he would even check the cameras to show we didn't stay in them, the owner told him to stay out of it. Go figure right!! The owner then came back with oh we're charging a cleaning fee for those rooms because you took the blankets!! What!!?? You charged us $350 already cleaning fee in the original price!! This is beyond ridiculous , unprofessional, and by no means ok!! They knew how many guest were there from the beginning and it wasn't even the max to be in that big house, and still did not accommodate any blankets. So now we are charged $880 for what!!!?? Blankets for our children!!?? Unacceptable!! Not ok!! The management and the owner are awful!!! Do not stay here, they will find a way to charge you for something, clearly we are not the only families complaining. Read all the reviews!! We will be doing something about these charges so don't think you're just going to scam us after all the money spent this weekend at this place! Highly disappointed!! Went here for a company retreat it was very relaxing and clean what a great get away spot!

We just left after a weekend at Cedar Cove Ranch and let me say it was one of the least relaxing weekends we have had. Booked through VRBO, found out after they have a separate 14 page contract and $350 cleaning fee. Once we arrived no initial walk through was done and multiple things on the property were not working or dirty. Shower would not drain and backup with hair and other debris from previous guests. An employee was constantly watching everything we did and micromanaging our group. We had a few families, not rowdy, respectful of property but felt uneasy every moment the employee was around. Employee was also very rude. As his personal dog ran up unleashed behind our son. My husband told my son to be careful as the employee made a rude remark towards him. The children were also directed to not speak or touch the dog multiple times, even though the dog was never leashed, trying to get into the cabin and right were the children were playing. We were also charged excessively for use of kayaks and other items that would typically be included with a VRBO rental. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because despite the property management our group made some great memories. I would advise anyone to avoid this property. There are so many better options where management is rude or micromanaging your every move during your stay! read more
