The Market Place Post Office has a deceptive name as it located away from the main market place…read morearea and is actually found in the west end of the front street. It is very easy to find and is near to the TSB bank. There is a post box outside of the building. The building has a slight ramp up to the door which means easy access for prams and wheelchairs. The door is easy to open too. Inside there is a small area where you can queue. I find that because it gets so busy the queue is often trailing out of the front entrance. This makes entering and exiting very difficult. There is a stand selling cards for all occassions, a working photo booth and a children's bubblegum machine inside. There is also a wall mounted stand where you can get padded envelopes. If you need to write anything or fill out a form you can lean on the windowsill area. This is a bit awkward but there is usually a pen lying on the sill ready to be used. There are several booths where you can be served. I do find that the most staff here is usually two people and more often it is only one. This tends to mean long queues and waiting times. There are pens chained to the boothes and scales where you can weigh your post. The staff talk you through all transactions. I must say that some staff members are a little bit stern and bad tempered and sometimes just gesture instead of speaking. I find this a little rude and unpleasant. A busy, post office, the next nearest office is located next door to the Spar shop at Bedlington Station. Parking is available at street level or behind the front street in free carpark.

This will be quite short but I'll get to the good stuff quick!…read more Really cute coffee spot in the food corner of Grainger Market. I absolutely love that your coffee is made from freshly ground coffee beans (and they have TONS of flavours, strengths, and options). One side of the cafe us for ordering drinks then and there and the other side is to take some coffee beans home. The woman working at the time was very patient with me and quite informative, outlining different coffee beans and what she thinks I would like based on how strong I like my coffee. I ended up getting their regular base coffee bean flavored with pumpkin spice. A regular size is £2.25 and students get 10% off with a valid ID. So really...a great tasting coffee for basically £2? I'll take it. The only downside I have with my coffee (although I didn't specify) was that I got it at a warm temperature. There was no chance of burning myself, it was drinkable right away. I generally sip my coffee over an hour or so, so it got too cold at some point. Otherwise, I highly recommend you grab your next coffee from here :) definitely going back to try out their hazelnut coffee!

Helpfully, the staff will grind your beans if you're planning to make your coffee in a cafetiere. All in all a must try for hot beverage enthusiasts with a broad variety of flavours that should cater for just about any palate.

With plenty of spacious seating on the patio and tucked away in little corners of the garden we found a lovely little table for 3 in the sunshine. For winter months they have 2 main buildings and 2 out-houses which are very pretty and well decorated inside. Post-birthday night out I was a little worse for wear and ready for a full English and a good cup of tea unfortunately the breakfast cut off point is at 11.30 however I wasn't too disappointed as the rest of the menu left plenty of tantalizing options for me to choose from! The waitress came over to take our orders and helped me choose between 2 dishes that I was torn over. The drinks service was a little slow but the food was timey and the presentation on all the dishes was amazing! My Dad opted for a seafood platter, which came with smoked salmon, crayfish, cockles, mackerel and crab slaw all served with sourdough bread, hollandaise and aioli sauces - seafood heaven! My Mum went for the lamb and goats cheese burger that was divine! The lamb was cooked to perfection with it being pink in the middle and served with a yummy mint yogurt dip and sun-dried tomatoes. I was stuck between the club sandwich and BBQ pulled pork open sandwich. On recommendation I went for the pork, which was served, on sourdough toast with melted Monterey cheese - heaven! I was having food-envy looking at the lamb burger but was not in anyway disappointed with my pork. Finishing off our meal with the Parlour's specialty - ice creams all round! I have a new found love for the homemade lemon meringue cone... There is so many flavours including apple pie and the originals too - its an ice cream lovers heaven! Our leisurely lunch here was fab and they are also promoting the "Super Club" on the 18th of July that is a diner's paradise! With three courses plus their homemade ice cream at £25 a head it doesn't break the bank either. This place was definitely worth the 20-minute drive and I will be back to try their dinner menu!

It was a really yummy cake! The sitting rooms were so cute, we were in the garden shed , and there was the main room, and the ice cream parlour and outdoor sitting. A really well done place, with layout and set up. Sometimes tea shops along the high way have a whole room full of junk they are trying to sell to you and then cramped sitting. But not here I think I saw a few cute things for sale but mostly they were focused on their food and I was told famous ice cream! Well done for keeping the place about whats most important... the food! Friendly service and tasty treats. It was a bit slow because they were super packed and under staff. The waiter apologised for the wait and said someone had called in ill! I can only rate it on the cake and coffee because I didn't eat anything there but I imagine it would be good .
