I visited this garden center yesterday for the first time and was very warmly greeted by co-owner, Mary Beth Gullickson. (Jean Sticha is the other owner) Her knowledge of and passion for plants and landscaping is immediately apparent. This gem of a garden center has it all, and much earlier than all the other area garden centers in the Twin Cities and Faribault. I am installing two climbing rose arbors this season, and Mary skillfully recommended the perfect variety of rose and ordered four for me. If she doesn't have what you are looking for, Mary will make every effort to get it for you! In addition to an extensive selection of great quality plants, Mary has a shop full of interesting garden art (including fairies!) and gardening supplies. Outside, pots, trellises and even more garden art can be found. I will be going to Cedar Brook in favor of the "big box" garden centers for four reasons: 1.) to support locally women owned businesses such as this, 2.) for their outstanding selection of nursery stock, 3.) for the amazing knowledge and customer service, and 4.) very competitive pricing.
