Bravo and kudos! After going here for 5 months, I've learned a lot of things. Having gone to Nautilus since I've lived in Montreal, the initial visit to this gym was jarring. The space was smaller, things were more cramped than I was used to. A bit too chaotic (during peak hours) I thought. But now as the time has passed and I understand the gym's "groove" more I gotta admit that the vibe here is quite excellent. A very social and friendly crowd whenever I attend. There's always smiles and banter between members, members and staff, the staff amongst themselves. And that "chaotic" vibe I got during peak hours is now something more poetic and playful. Very cool gym! Sarkis, the big honcho there, is a totally cool chill helpful man. Very friendly and receptive to feedback. The man knows how to run a great gym spectacularly.

The facilities themselves are clean and well maintained, exactly what I would expect from YMCA-type organization. My only complaint is that the building is a little bit maze like, so unless the gym or other room you are looking for is right on the main floor, you've got a bit of searching to do. There is signage, but with multiple different looooooong hallways and stairwells, and multiple changing rooms, you're bound to take a wrong turn from time to time. Thankfully the staff are all friendly and helpful and don't hesitate to point you in the right direction. Although I haven't made use of it yet, in signing up for a class you need to purchase a yearly membership card (pretty standard), that entitles you to free swim. Nice! They seem to have lots of different options, from a monthly free for as many classes as you want, to weight room and cardio machine use for a few, to individual classes. I like that there are multiple options for people who don't necessarily want the whole shebang.

The trainers are friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. They charge $25/hour, and if you have exceeded 30 training sessions, then it becomes $20/hour. The space is not the largest, but good enough, providing all the weight training and cardio equipment you may need. To be exact, 10,000 square feet of training space, with 75 up-to-date cardio machines, and 75 strength stations. It is not constantly jam-packed, but does have its peak hours. They also provide a towel service, and have made the vicinity wheelchair accessible. The gym is in the perfect location for those who live and/or work downtown, study and/or teach at Concordia, and use the Guy-Concordia metro often. It is also in the ideal location to find a quick bite before or after your workout. There are a variety of classes offered too, ranging from yoga to pilates, martial arts to kick-boxing, and many, many others. They last for about a month and a half at a time, and incur a separate charge. To me, this is one of LeGym's downfalls, as I wish it provided full access to classes, as well as the gym's facilities. Despite this, however, you still get great quality for what you're paying. I'm a regular and I love it here.

Everyone here is there to get fit, stay fit, and they respect the place and the equipment. 2. True training. A gym that's not just for getting in shape (e.g. gym muscles). This is a legit training facility. I haven't seen much of this in commercial gyms (only at say, college athletics training facilities). 3. Respect. No sales tactics. 4. No waiting. Multiple identical workout stations (if there's a unique machine or rack or board or bar you love and rarely shows up at commercial gyms, or if they have it, they have one. ProGym will have 4 of them) 5. Old school and latest tech. Missing an old school rack or tired of lugging your own TRX to the gym, they'll have it.
