The captain, who was very congenial, explains the sites along the way and some history of the area and the lake. We learned a lot! Our cruise was probably less than half booked. There was plenty of food and everything tasted good. The staff on hand was friendly and competent. The dock is easy to find. Parking was ample, although paid. My spouse had a delicious huckleberry lemonade. I had an (overpriced) glass of wine. They did promise more than one dessert (I think?) and only had one. I felt sorry for anyone who didn't like chocolate cuz that's what it was. Surprisingly nice bathrooms for onboard a small boat. Lovely views. Very pleasant overall with nice music playing as well.

To be honest, I'm often not impressed with food in American venues -- and I definitely didn't expect much from a dinner cruise. But to my surprise, everything was excellent: the fish, the steak, the perfectly seasoned potatoes, and the fresh salads. Service was great too, which made the whole experience even better. We had such a fun time with friends and took tons of photos along the way. P.S. Bring something warm -- after sunset it gets noticeably cooler out on the water! Would absolutely do it again next time we're in town.

Coeur d' Alene has been on my list as everyone says how great it is. So, a friend flew to visit over the summer and we spent 2 nights at the resort in their North Wing room. Then another friend came to visit this month, so we returned (with a much better experience). Arrival: Both visits were easy and we self parked. Be aware that there is an elevator from the parking garage to the resort and it is not the same one that will bring you to your room. Easy if you don't have a lot of stuff, but one visit I brought my dog and I could have used a luggage cart. So unload up front and then go park. Check in: Very quick. No wait. On the 2nd stay we were allowed to check in early which was nice. Rooms: North Wing- yikes. It does say on the site it is for the "value minded traveler." It shows. Summer is expensive there and since we were going to be outside the majority of the time it wasn't horrible. However, the room is much like a motel with the window facing a walkway. Ours was right next to the elevator. ugh. The inside was just okay. As others have mentioned, it could use updating. My second stay we stayed in the Lake Tower Room with double beds and fireplace and balcony. It was lovely. Nice room, beds comfortable, but the best was the view. Housekeeping: Unfortunately, both stays no one came to service the room. The Lake Tower even had a button to push when you want it serviced. We were out of the room by late morning and had the button turned on. Oh well. When I called, they did offer to service the room but we were tired and wanted to relax. One minor thing is that there is quite the push for tipping. I believe it came in an email and text. Just thought it was tacky. I've never seen that done before. Amenities: Visited the outdoor Blu pool during the summer. It was busy. My friend and I found an area that was "adults only" (not near the pool) and enjoyed the lake more than the kids in the pool crowd. Restaurants: Dined at Beverly's and Dockside. I will write separate reviews for them. All positive and will be back. The pre fixe dinner (early bird) was a great deal at Beverly's! ***Only policy I would suggest a change on is their charge for pet fee. It's one of the highest I've paid (and I've stayed at 5 star resorts) There is a DAILY $75 fee (someone said they cap at $150). I understand a fee is necessary, but I think that is a bit over the top. Our pup is crated (and prefers it) so does not require that deep level of clean other dogs might need. It might be better to have a standard reasonable fee and then charge the owner if the animal's stay requires additional cleaning.

On May 28th, 2023 I made a reservation for a "Fun" Ship for August 11th 1/2 day from 2-6pm. When I…read morereceived a confirmation two days before our reservation, it showed that we had a morning confirmation (which was incorrect). I called them right away to sort this out and was told that they input our reservation incorrectly and that they do not have any boats available for the afternoon. Due to it being a mistake on their end, they offered to give us a discount if we reserve a boat for another day or morning. Unfortunately, we were unable to make that work due to other reservations we had the next day and then were heading home the next day after that. All of us, four adults and 6 kids, were really looking forward to boating on Coeur d'Alene lake. The other family we were with had also made arrangements to change campgrounds so we could be close to the boat dock. Moving a RV for one night isn't ideal, especially now that we don't have a boat. CD Boat Rentals didn't help us find another boat and, of course, every other boat rental I called that day was already booked. This was a huge disappointment to our trip and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

After renting multiple days with KJ, one interaction on 9/1 at ~3:30 PM was convinced us to take our business elsewhere. Upon docking, an associate confronted us with accusations that my husband had been "cutting through swimming zones" and "cutting people off." Not only were these claims untrue, but they were presented as fact with no specifics to support them other than receiving the call at the time we reached the no wake zone. At one point the story was "I got calls," and moments later it became "I got a call at the time you entered the wake zone." Which is it? When pressed for details (where, who, when), none were offered, just a shrug and the remark that he only gets "two calls a year," and apparently we're half of them. To make matters worse, we were told the supposed "cutting off" occurred as we entered the no wake zone. That means speeds were five miles per hour or less. How, exactly, do you cut someone off when everyone is crawling along at idle speed in the same general direction? The claim defies common sense, and yet it was repeated back to us as though it were unquestionable fact. The problem wasn't that a call was mentioned; it was the condescending delivery. Telling someone to "learn the rules" and "take an online course" is not only unnecessary, it's insulting. My husband is a cautious, defensive driver with experience across lakes and oceans. He said he had not driven a boat in a while - a while for us means last year. Again, no clarification requested from the Associate - just launched into a very confusing lecture. During our day on Lake Coeur d'Alene, we passed multiple police boats without incident, not to mention receiving nothing but waves and smiles from other boaters. Hardly the picture of reckless behavior. Had the associate framed the issue as a question, "We received a report you may have gone near a swim zone, what happened today?" we would have been happy to clear it up. Instead, it was delivered as an unverified accusation, shifting story included, wrapped in condescension. I asked for a management callback to try and resolve directly with KJ, same associate called me back. I respectfully stated facts, sharing my husband's history with boats, and that I felt he should have approached it differently. I did not ask for a refund, compensation, or anything - I just wanted to chat about the interaction and why it was inappropriate. His official response? "Your feedback is noted *end call*". My husband and I will not do business here again, and since management didn't seem to wish to discuss this interaction I will be "noting" my feedback here on Yelp!

When I asked if there were any discounts available for seniors or military they kindly waived the fee for the rental tube. We had a lot of fun on the water in spite of a somewhat cool and overcast day. Would definitely do this activity again with our family and would certainly rebook with KJ Watersports!

It's never ideal to be out of your own house, but VRA made the entire experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. The rental itself had a few issues right out of the gate--things like the dryer not working and the hot tub needing attention. What truly impressed me was how quickly and professionally VRA responded. Their team was on it immediately, getting people out to the property and resolving problems without delay. No runaround, no excuses--just fast, effective solutions. From start to finish--communication, responsiveness, repairs, billing, and overall customer service--VRA was top-notch. Issues happen with any property, but how a company handles them is what matters, and VRA absolutely delivered. Their attention to detail and commitment to taking care of their guests really stood out. I can't say enough good things about the Vacation Rental Authority team.
