Whenever we're in the Great Western Road/Kelvinbridge area - my boyfriend will insist that we pay homage to CC Music. On their website CC Music call themselves the best music shop in Scotland - and they're probably not far off the mark.
Open for about 20 years now, if you want a music shop that knows what it's talking about - this is the place for you. They have a huge range of instruments in stock, including a whole room dedicated to acoustic guitars. (For those of you who are dragged there and not quite as interested at the mention of acoustic guitars - you'll be pleased to know that there is a huge leather sofa to enjoy while you wait). The instruments range from not-very-expensive to absolutely-breathtakingly-expensive; so there's something for pretty much everyone.
As well as instruments, in CC Music you'll also find a whole range of music gadgets, such as loop pedals, and amps. They have a whole department dedicated to sheet music, too. At least, they call it a department, it's really more of a corner - but a great selection all the same.
One of the most fascinating things about CC Music is Jimmy Egypt's Guitar Repair Shop. Just as it says on the tin, Jimmy can repair just about anything, whilst surrounded by a selection of Egyptian artefacts. Bonus. read more
