We also ordered two plates of various combo dumplings - pork, shrimp, veg etc. It was about 20 dumplings in total and was enough for two for dinner with the soup. We really enjoyed everything. Very good dumpling place in the CBD of Canberra. The decor is modern in that there are windows between the dining area and the kitchen where the cooks are preparing and cooking most of the food. Kinda fun watching them wrap the dumplings, makes you appreciate the amount of work it takes. I didnt see any Chinese style round tables, seems like they just have long tables for larger groups Dumpling were good though the skin was a little thicker than i would like but i'm spoiled and have eaten at the best dumpling places around the world. They have a very wide selection of fillings ranging from the vegetarian to prawn & pumpkin to beef. They also feature boiled or pan-fried versions. On the noodle front, they have items from the everyday wonton noodle (which was very good) to the Singapore pan-fried noodle. You can also get hotpot and regular Chinese entrees. Service was great as we had a person who was late to our party but the wait staff kept asking whether we want to order. If you're ever craving Chinese food while you're in Canberra, this is the place to be. They have a wide selection of dumplings, fried rice, and noodles. We got the steamed soup dumplings (absolutely amazing!), Chinese vegetables with ginger sauce (which was really good, particularly since the vegetables are so expensive to buy at supermarkets), and a variety of dumplings (both steamed and pan fried - chicken, combination (prawn, pork, and vegetables). Unfortunately, they don't have my favourite pork and leek dumplings, but I don't think I can complain since I didn't expect to have Chinese food while I was here. It gets very busy here every day of every week during dinner time, so I would definitely recommend making reservations, particularly for larger groups. The pork buns are to die for but their dumplings aren't as good as others I've had in Canberra. Their other main dishes looked and smelled wonderful so I might skip the dumplings next time. The venue is really noisy so I wouldn't suggest it for couples or families with young kids. Great though for small groups who don't mind having to shout to be heard! Busy, chaotic, delicious. Bookings essential on busy days, at all times. They are closed from 3-5, and you need to arrive right at 5:00 to get a seat, or just make a booking! The service is slow during the sit-down-order period, but servers are constantly walking around picking up empty plates and tidying up. Pay station is at the entrance, which can be a bit chaotic with the constant influx of customers. 7 years in Hawaii absolutely spoiled me on cheap, tasty dim sum and every great noodle dish under the sun, but this place is *so goooood*. Portions are very generous, and prices are reasonable. We had the Shanghai pork dumplings (steamed, 6pcs), the pan-friend prawn and pumpkin (10 pcs) and the Special Dumplings (10pcs), which was something of a variety plate. I loved the first two and was generally underwhelmed by the 'special' ones. We also had the Char Kway Teow, which we finished- the prawns were perfectly cooked (it is so easy to overcook prawns in a fried noodle dish, so that always stands out to me). The house-made chili sauce is fantastic and I could have just eaten that plain on rice. YUM. Will be back as often as possible! 5 stars for food, but 4 stars for the slowness and general chaos, so this should really be more like 4.5 read more

The dumpling skin is way too thick(which was a huge disappointment as they are a dumpling house). Flavour wise, I'll give it a so so. Had better at a less pricy place. The Malaysian fried rice, don't know where to begin.... it's no where near "Malaysian". Felt embarrassed that this is called Malaysian fried rice as I know the difference is like the sky and the sea. I visited this place a couple of times and the food was exceptional. However I made the mistake of ordering the Szechuan chicken dish. I had visited China before and had real Szechuan food over there and fell in love with it. I felt jipped, the dish came out looking chicken with poured syrup containing chilli flakes and when I tasted it, I was really disappointed. It was everything but Szechuan. They only got the chicken correct in the order. It was simply a sweet and sour sauce that you get in a sweet and sour pork dish. I made a complaint and the manager came over to explain that they made the dish like this to "Cater for Caucasians", I felt that was racially discriminating. It didn't make sense to lose the essence of the dish to that extent that you couldn't identify it with its name. If u want legitimate Chinese food don't expect to find it here as they will "cater" to what they think is good for you. We were seated and our waitress was fantastic, with so many dishes to choose from we decided to let her choose, she was very good with checking our thoughts and chose, salt & pepper squid, beef stock pot, chilli lamb, combination dumplings and fried dumplings.
