While cool when you first enter, overall the experience of visiting the cave is just so-so. I imagine for French speakers it's much more interesting, but for people who don't speak French the tour falls flat. While the French speakers get a tour guide, everyone else gets an audio guide. The audio guide (at least the English one) is horrible. We got about half the information the French speakers got, leaving us to wonder around aimlessly wondering what info we weren't getting and waiting. The audio guide was very poorly done as it was a guy saying flowery, but not very informative things about the paintings themselves, attempting to be philosophical. It was hard to follow as they did a poor job pointing out which specific things they were talking about. In the final room, the audio guide literally says "Look over there... now there". We had lots of trouble finding what they were referring to. Maybe my family and I just didn't get it, but overall the tour leads a lot to be wanted. And not in a good way. read more
