Cave Mouisset is not a bar, it's a wine shop.
Entering Cave Mouisset you will find furnitures made of wood ranges in front of the huge door. Walking through the doorstep, you'll enter a huge shop with wine bottles and fine decoration everywhere, a bar, few high tables, and big and comfy sofas you'll probably go for if you wanna have a drink with friends.
The light is not too strong, music really low, and the staff is just the nicest you could imagine to meet, specially if you consider you are in France.
Marc, Annick and Camille will be more than happy to help you to choose the right wine for the right food or moment. They know really well they products and spend lot of their free moments to visit wine makers and taste futur wines they'll propose to their clients.
Sometimes, Marc's father will be around and you sure should take time to discuss the story of the wine you'll buy because he is kind of Pic de la Mirandole's guy when it comes to wine.
Wine is not only thing you can find in the shop :
beer collection is extensive and you'll find really nice craft bottle beers from all over the World. My preferred ones are O'harras, Anostéké, Seven Girafes, but you'll find much more to try.
Marc is a rum lover and you'll find one of the finest collection of rums from the sweetest and easy to drink like Diplomatico tho the hardest overproof ones such as A. Michler Rum (my frist choice lately) or Plantation O.F.T.D.
Fine Groceries products carefully selected by Annick
Specialty you won't find in any other wine shop is the extensive selection of Fronton wines. Fronton wine is a protected designation. To be Fronton wine you need at least to be made of 50 % of "négrettes" grapes and produced on a close area around Fronton.
The négrette is a very old grape, and the legend says it would come from Cyprus and brought by Saint Jean Jerusalem order during XIIth century. Today this grape is only used in Fronton and a little in United States.
Let's get back to the Cave Mouisset. Even if it's a wine shop, you can have a drink in the shop, enjoying, as mentioned earlier, a comfortable sofa.
The owners, Marc and Annick, often organise some special events you'll have to book if you want to be part of it : wine or rhum tasting, special parties for music's world day, or Saint Patrick's, and you can even to privatize the place for a birthday for instance.
So, conlusion is quite simple : if you have good wines to buy or if you want to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with few friends just head to the Cave Mouisset and enjoy the restful place.
