I see so many negative reviews, especially regarding CM/SM, Giardia and Coccidia. Almost all puppies come home with some type of parasite, according to my vet and they just have to be treated. This is just part of puppyhood. As far as CM/SM, until recently, there was no genetic testing for this, and if you research it, 90% of Cavaliers have this condition to some degree or another. I got my second puppy from Crumley and she did have some pain stemming from SM. She also has a very low grade luxating patella, which rarely bothers her and if it does, only for a matter of seconds, then she's fine. When I let Sarah know if Rosie's issues, she was very concerned and offered either a full refund or a free puppy whenever I wanted one. She and Hillary couldn't have been more supportive. And, according to the contract I signed, they did not have to do that because Rosie was over a year old at the time of diagnosis. Sometimes you just don't get the whole story, so I'm trying to clarify some things. Love these girls! Oh, and my first Crumley dog has had zero problems. Healthy as a horse. read more

I wrote to the breeder to discuss this with her and they never responded. My Bella is only 5 1/2 years old.... I do not recommend this breeder at all when I was thrilled in the beginning. Zero wasn't an option. I was grieving the loss of another pet when I had the displeasure of coming across these people. I paid for advance trained and received a dog who couldn't walk on a leash and was terrified of everything and everyone. I'd never met a Cavalier that didn't immediately try to lick my face off. This poor baby didn't even know how. When I voiced my concerns I was told "we will send you another" I felt he needed me and would not have a chance with these people. He ran from strangers and ducked everytime you tried to pet him. After intense training/socialization To the tune of $1,000 he gradually improved and I carried him everywhere so we could bond. We had a few good years then the heart problems started. He also had extreme dental issues and lost half of his teeth. I've never had that before with my other cavaliers. Another several thousand dollars. He also had mobility issues from time to time and needed meds to walk. Then this June he collapsed with congestive heart failure. ER trips, 8 meds a day, restricted activity, heart specialists. Another 15K plus. He died in my arms tonight less than 8 years old struggling to breathe with his little heart pounding. I could not recommend someone less than these people. All interactions felt sketchy, cold and uncaring. I gave that little guy all the love and best medical treatment money could buy and I will probably never have another dog again after this experience. Please do your research better than I did and don't make adoption decisions while you are grieving. read more

BUYER BEWARE. Got my tri color male from here. He was born 2/19/22. He had asperated pneumonia before coming home. I paid 1k for a board and train for basic training. He barely knew how to sit. Rip off. He also came sick with giardia. It took 3 rounds of antibiotics to beat it. He smelled awful when I got him too. Also, he eats food incredibly fast which makes me believe they had to compete for food. My rescue dog does the same but he never sees her eat. Could be just a general thing. He had major issues potty training. Also, anal gland rupture which cost a ton. and extreme snorring at night. His face is lopsided and is not even close structure wise to the breed standard. He is also bow legged in the back. This April, out of nowhere he developed back issues. We are getting tested for CM. I can't even pick him up without him screaming. Also they didn't have a picture of the father, as far as I know they don't even show their dogs. I see a lot of reviews with CM so far his heart is healthy but he's got back issues , a weird gait from the start, and anal gland issues that I have to take care of every four week or infection occurs. I love my dog to death but wish these people would take breeding more seriously. I knew this breed had issues but several issues is not fair to people. You are better off purchasing from a breeder who is affiliated with the cavaliers kennel club of America. Also these people are mass breeders because there is always puppies in basically every color variation on their website. Please think again before choosing Crumley. read more

We purchased our puppy in September 2022. His puppy visit was 1 day after arriving home and he was positive for Coccidia. He was also below the 5 pound weight limit we were told was required to take him home. He would not eat and it has continued to be a struggle since. At around 4 months, we noticed his wide stance and gait. Xrays revealed some hip concerns but our vet said it could just be him growing into his body. She wanted to monitor and re-image at the 1 yr mark. Maverick was imaged last week when we took him in for his anorexia and he was found to have a shallow socket and dysplasia in the right hip. Surgery is inevitable (RFO) in the future. Maverick also has Chiari Malformation with some signs of syringomyelia. We will manage this with meds for as long as we can but if his symptoms worsen, MRI and possible surgery may be needed for this as well. The Breeder and Trainer were both quick to respond to me when I asked for advice related to his eating issues and actually recommended the medical evaluation for health concerns that may be related to his anorexia. As soon as I let them know about the health issues, I have had ZERO response. I would not recommend this breeder and wish I had done more research of previous reviews. I am SO glad we bought the health insurance because this little boy is going to have an enormous amount of medical bills. Please research the breed prior to purchasing from ANY breeder. I know CM is common in 95% of the breed but I think "breeding for the smaller size of standard" has REALLY affected these puppies' outcome of developing SM. read more

Brought home gorgeous puppy. Because I have raise litters I watched him carefully. I fed him more than recommended by the breeder as he was eating everything in the yard. Sticks, bark, leaves and bugs. His forces got softer and bloody over time. Took three vet visits for them to clue in. He tested positive for Giardia. Tomorrow I go back to test again. I don't think it's gone. Its absolutely infuriating the amount of cleaning and sterilization I have undertaken. Our Cavalier who came with a guarantee that she was healthy has so far genetic issue with one eye smaller than the other and has cataracts in both eyes, she has a small liver (hence why she wouldn't eat, she was nauseous), and at 2 years old he was diagnosed with yet another genetic issue CMSM - her brain is larger than her skull and spinal fluids builds up and causes severe nerve pain. Then lastly she just had surgery to remove a urate stone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BREEDER - she sells unhealthy puppies without a blink. read more

I purchased a "scratch and dent" puppy for $500. they told me she had a couple of hernias that needed fixed. We got them fixed and I have an email from them saying they would reimburse me. and now they are saying they won't. This breeder has a lot of "scratch and dent" puppies. Our puppy came to us very, very sick and undersized. She had Giardia and two parasites along with 3 hernias. She had diarrhea for 4 months and it stunted her growth. We put her in the extended training program and the only thing she was trained in was the crate. We adore her but to pay $4500 for her with the training was insane. We sent all the vet paperwork to them and they paid for her vet bills, which we were very grateful for. I bought my dog in December 2015 and had trouble from the begin. Charlie was sick and could not keep food down, took him to the vet and was treated. Four years later I noticed Charlie could not keep up with my older dog while walking. we had him checked out and found a heart murmur. Charlie was only 7 when he went into heart failure. I believe this breeder thinks about money over Heath, do your research before buying. I love this dog with all my heart and spent thousands of dollars trying to save him. I have amazing puppies from Crumley. Two 3 years olds, one 2 year old, and 16 week old and a 13 week old. They are all great and all healthy well Socialized pup. In fact, the reason I ended up with a second puppy is because I found out my 2 year olds Mother had her third and final litter and I wanted another pup with a great disposition like hers. She has taken to potty training just like her sister- so smart and eager to please. Thankfully the 16 week old has been the same. I have one who was extremely had to train but that is completely her personality. She's stubborn and independent but even with those challenges she is the most loving itty bitty blessing. Dogs are trained to know where the outside is at their age when you get them and they do have to be trained at a new home bc it's a completely new setting. It's like Potty training a child. Also every single One of mine has slept in my bed since day one. I'm a light sleeper so when they move I wake and am able to take them out overnight. There has only been one accident across these 5 dogs...and I have two others...so a total of 7 and work full time. Some kids are easy and others are a challenge but it definitely take work and patience. Small dogs have smaller bladders dogs their ability to last without an accident takes time...about and hour for every month of age over three months. I believe these dogs are well taken care of and I've been both at the house and the bed and breakfast. She has lots of dogs on site to kennel as a business and parents come On site to breed but my babies all have guardian families and live in a home full time with those families and not onsite. Again, just like human babies while we want every single one to be healthy, there is no guarantee but the change from 3 years ago to not they have increased their healthy guarantee from 1 to 2 years so they stand by their dogs and want make sure that you have a life-long companion. Would give zero stars if it was allowed. Our dog. purchased from this breeder, passed away today and wasn't even 3 years old. He had a heart murmur and a neurological condition, both well known to the breed. The neurologist at UF said that cavaliers are one of the top 2 breeds seen in their animal hospital with health issues. I had no idea and only researched once Chipper's health began deteriorating. DON'T waste your $$$$$. We received our Cav at just about 8 weeks old. We were told she was from Ireland. The time line did not add up, she had to have traveled across the pond at around 4 weeks? I should have realized and questioned more. To the point our gal was diagnosed with a neurological disorder SM. (Look it up on any Cav group site) Known as a small dog disorder. When I informed Holly of the diagnosis she asked for proof and said she never had a pup with the problem before. We purchased two Cavaliers from Holly. One was almost immediately diagnosed (from our personal vet) with syringomelia. He was barely a year old. He passed away at 6 years old from complications of SM. Our other cavalier went from a grade zero heart murmur to a grade six heart murmur in one year. He passed away at barely seven years old. Someone described her as a "puppy mill with lipstick on" and I can't think of a more perfect description. She has - literally - HUNDREDS of puppies on her property. Quite honestly, someone needs to shut her down. Or at the very least, put a limit on the number of puppies she can have at a time. I'm CERTAIN that she and her vet are in cahoots. We used her vet (Lance Animal Hospital) at her recommendation and the vet kept telling us that the symptoms our dog was having was the result of a "slipped disc". We could never get our dog out of pain. We finally took him to a local vet who immediately diagnosed him with SM and sent us to the University of Georgia. I feel like her vet makes SURE that all of her dogs get a clean bill of health. I suggest purchasing a dog from anywhere but Crumley Cavaliers. read more

I'm good with dogs, I can train them......something is still not right with this one. these reviews are so correct. This is a puppy mill, at least by my definition. Way too many dogs, some unhealthy (ours had GI issues when we got her and for about a year), pushy sales tactics (that should be an immediate red flag). I beg you to do your research. Cavaliers by Crumley is putting lipstick on a puppy mill. My dog was sweet and beautiful. I paid $3,250 for what Holly Crumley was described as an advanced puppy. On her siteshe changes the definition of that. At the time that I bought Ruby. Holly referred to her as Rudy. By the time I bought Ruby, are they advanced puppies were advertised as potty trained excetera. Ruby was nowhere near potty-trained in fact I think she could not control her bowels. I have raised dogs from 7 weeks old for their whole lives. I know what I am doing. I took Ruby out 5 times a day to make sure. she would poop outside and poop inside. I do not think she could control her bowels. my vet really tried to help by changing her diet. I will get back to that. The other thing about Ruby is that she was so tentative and full of fear.v She bonded with me. I think she wanted to be safe. I have wonderful neighbors who also tried to engage her but she would just tuck her tail between her legs and not go near them. 2 signs of puppy mill are bowel incontinence and excessive fear. Ruby's trainer,Sara, at Holly Crumley told me Cavaliers typically have loose stools. Holly Crumley did not reveal the loose stools even as I questioned her. He continued to have major health issues and died after we had him for only 6-months. We recently received a phenomenal ruby male, heart strong, eyes bright and perfectly mannered as he came to us trained. The staff at her facility is not only professional, but courteous and completely knowledgeable about Cavalier King Charles spaniels. The kennel building where she boards other dogs and house some of her Cavaliers is well maintained, cleaned, airy and music is always playing for the comfort of her wards.
