I am a little late on this cava train however, I'm so happy I came across this place and actually checked it out today. It's similar to fast food casual where you can order and customize your ingredients. The only thing I would say about this place is that they do trench your dish in the dressing. So next time I am going to ask for the sauce on the side because it was way too heavy. The staff are pretty friendly at this location and next time I'm going to definitely add in more ingredients and try different sauces. The drinks are amazing. After running errands we decided to stop in to have lunch. I've eaten Cava countless times but it was my fiancé's first time. He order a chicken bowl with his choice of toppings and a lemonade. He was so pleased with the portion size, customer service and cleanliness of the establishment. So I was proud to have recommended Cava for lunch. I ordered a veggie bowl and decided to take it home for dinner since I never finish in one sitting. Before we drove all the way home I decided to take a few more bites as we sat in traffic. As I'm eating I find a fly sautéed in my food. I'm not mad at it because people are in and out all day and flies fly. Came in yesterday to grab dinner for my bf and I. I have only recently discovered Cava through work and wanted to have some. I got the Tahini Caesar and picked up the Harrissa Avocado for my bf. It was my first time at this location. The space seemed clean, the staff were friendly and it wasn't crowded. The Tahini Caesar was amazing and just as good as I remembered it being the first time I tried it at work! I ate the entire thing in one sitting. Later when I bought home my bf's food, he said it was amazing and the chicken was perfect (nice and tender). I think it's safe to say Cava is a place we will be frequenting for nights we don't have dinner plans or feel like cooking. read more

I went here for lunch, what the hell is going on with this place? The restaurant is absolutely disgusting. The tables' trash cans are full and overflowing. Everybody's touching their face and hair, and it's just an absolute mess. One big table is covered in laptops, folders, computers, and random stuff. CAVA is amazing! It's essentially a Mediterranean Chipotle. Choose between having a DELICIOUS bowl or pita, and go to town building the item of your dreams with the best array of toppings and dressings. I always opt for the Greens and Grains bowl--you can opt for all Greens or all Grains. I get the SuperGreens, though you can stick with spinach, arugula, or other bases. The grains span between lentils, different rices, a cauli option, and I think a protein rice? The proteins are sooo good. Shoutout to my favorites, the honey harissa chicken and the spicy lamb meatballs. There are a NUMBER of different dips, toppings, and dressings. You can choose three dips, unlimited toppings, and I think 2-3 dressings (drizzled on top or served on the side). They are all so bomb and I encourage you to be creative with your own. Overall, this place is healthy, filling, and an affordable option right near the promenade. There is a parking structure right across the street that offers 90 minutes free, so no excuses! I've always loved Cava and was bummed when the Venice location closed, so this one in Santa Monica is our new favorite. It doesn't matter how busy they get even though it's in a very popular tourist destination, the workers are always super nice and kind. Especially a gentleman there by the name of Roger, who I believe is the manager and used to work at the old Venice location. He is always in a great mood and makes the customers feel welcome and appreciated, which can be rare in a big city like Los Angeles. First timer here. I was thinking... overpriced bowls. Okay, not in a hurry to try it. Man, was I mistaken. The ingredients all have their own flavor and the sauces are really what make the dish. I ordered on the app (highly recommended for newbies like me because we want to see allllll the options and not hold up the line). I got the ancient spice bowl with spicy falafel and added a couple more veggies (free on the app). The garlic sauce had me tasting garlic for a whole day later, but it was legit good so I might have to deal with that. The Skhug sauce was 10/10 incredible. Wouldn't change a thing. I love CAVA. I've had it several times, it only for delivery. Today I decent to get it myself! Can you believe it? Lol well anyway, I did a build your own with grilled chicken, half salad, half saffron rice. Then I added so many things to it. Add what you like, but make sure you get the tatziki (cucumber yogurt sauce) and garlic sauce as well. My bowl had so much flavor. It's a good portion size, so you'll be full from it. I'm a huge fan of Cava. It's usually a good place to go where there is fresh and delicious Mediterranean food. This location is the closest to my work so it's my go to. Service is usually pretty good and food is pretty fresh. Since it's a cafeteria style restaurant, the amount of food you get depends on the server. Some days I get a lot of food and some days I get less. Regardless, food is still good. The restaurant is clean and I didn't see too many transients inside or outside of the store, which is saying a lot for a restaurant in Santa Monica. Have come here multiples times and the experience gets worse every time. The staff does not care... one individual will pretend to be cleaning while there is a line of 6 waiting to order. No sense of urgency. This time there was no chicken ready and very low on other options. I was willing to wait while it cooked as the staff said it will be ready in a couple minutes just to find out 15min later the chicken was barely being prepped to be put on the grill while the chicken was empty the whole time. Customers were forced to wait or choose another protein. The line was backing up and they still did not have half the sides/veggies available and even the sauces. There is no fix to service and staff each visit... the problem needs to be addressed on the management level of this location. read more

Today I decided to try Cava, considering I've been hearing all about it from friends. When I got to the Hollywood location, the site was super clean and the staff was hospitable and friendly. Specifically, the manager was able to help me since it seemed complicated at first and kindly walked me through the whole process. Service was trash today. I understand it was busy and they had online orders but they could've at least pretend to be nice or care. Me and my boyfriend felt rushed and it was our first time there so we didn't know much about the items and we were too scared to ask. It was like an older lady and a younger girl with a piercing but there was this one girl who was nice and patient with us. And then when we were paying my boyfriend was asking for pita chips and the girl with the piercing just cut him off and asked if our order was for here or to go and we just looked at each other like uhhh okay.
