Dreadful experience. Work completed was very poor and we were left with a pair of damaged shoes. The shoes were not cheap, were absolutely BRAND NEW when Caunces took them in and had never even been worn outside. We got them back and we found marks on both of the soles where the work had been carried out. The shoes were then taken back and the experience we got in the shop can only be described as threatening. Subsequent calls to try to remedy the situation by telephone amicably were then met with them hanging up the phone. We are now about to initiate a small claims case - something we wanted to avoid, but based on the total lack of help from Caunces and their attempts to try to make us go away quietly, what other choice do we have? We will be submitting a full set of photographs of the shoes prior to this shop ever having damaged them to substantiate our claim - something we are extremely glad we have under the circumstances. read more
