From the owner: Catskill Art Space (CAS) explores contemporary art practices of emerging and established artists…read more Through exhibitions, performances, classes, lectures and screenings, CAS fosters creative community in the Catskills. In 2020-22, CAS underwent a major renovation and expansion to activate its previously unoccupied second floor space, allowing the organization to expand the scale and scope of its programming. Coinciding with the renovation, the organization is reopening as Catskill Art Space. With exhibition space spanning two floors and four galleries, CAS aspires to be a regional arts destination, delivering programming that is diverse, dynamic, and life-enriching. CAS promotes the visual and performing arts of, by, and for our communities, including world-class artists, local artists, and arts education. CAS regularly offers opportunities to show work in our venues, and we welcome submissions from artists and arts groups through an annual call for exhibition proposals. CAS also empowers emerging and established artists of all ages to deepen their practices through various educational opportunities. Our long-standing CAS Kids program provides a free out-of-school learning opportunity, offering families intensive arts education combining art making and historical context. In our mixed-media and ceramics studios, we invite the community to explore, play and learn about art-making.

I'm not sure how to describe this place. It's unlike any other I've been. That said, if you…read moresculpture, art, history, walking, nature, and how they all intersect, you're going to like Opus 40. Essentially, a man named Harvey Fite single-handledly took over 60 acres of Saugerties and built a giant bluestone sculpture in the center of it. The beauty of the walls, the paths, the pools...it's worth checking out. The scale is incredible when you realize one man did it all himself, including hoisting the 14 foot, 9 ton stone he called FLAME in the center. Opus 40 hosts concerts, nature talks and walks, events, and more at this beautiful, serene space, so check those out. And if you're more inclined, just do what my mom and her friends do often (what I've only done once so far), and walk the grounds and take it all in.

This is an interesting outdoor place to come and visit. Words cannot describe the gentlemen…read morespending 40 years to complete this. You have to come and see for yourself the hours of shaping stones with hand tools to be an outdoor art piece that is beautiful to see, walk around to enjoy. There are park benches around where you can sit and enjoy a snack and take in all the different levels of this outdoor artwork. The entry to the park includes a road that you have to share with in/out traffic. Drive slowly and turn out if needed to let the other traffic pass. Be patient and you will enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Cost: $11 online. In person is $1 extra Tip: 1) Purchase tickets online. As we were leaving there was a sign that said park at full capacity and only those with pre-purchased tickets were allowed into the park. 2) Main parking lot can get full fast. It wasn't until after we parked and went to the ticketing office there was a sign for overflow parking. 3) I did not see a bathroom anywhere, so plan accordingly.

Why am i writing a review of an antique store? I have frequented many in my lifetime and this store…read moreis the best I have ever been to. It is organized, vibrant and absolutely a treasure trove of some of the most beautiful antiques I have ever seen. The owner is delightful and Shannon who we dealt with in the annex could not have been more wonderful. Helpful, friendly and very attentive. I had seen a piece I wanted to purchase yesterday. I called this morning to have her put the item on the side for me. When I arrived, she examined the item with me to ensure I still wanted to make the purchase. She took her time and made the whole experience delightful. I will be back for certain.

Buyers Beware. I rarely write reviews - only when there's a wrong. This place is very expensive…read morewith no form of authenticity to the items they are selling at antique prices. They price items what they think they are worth. So whatever item you're interested in, check the Internet to see the estimated value of the item or similar items before you buy because they will uphold store policy of no refunds if you buy some replicated junk at "antique" prices. They will rudely tell you it's a learning lesson for you. The place is overpriced so just make sure you price check everything you're considering buying before purchasing. It's unfortunate you can't trust anything anymore. Better to be safe then ripped off.
