This is a very well run and nicely presented charity shop which supports the Derby & District branch of Cat's Protection (not to be confused with Cats Protection Shelter at Long Lane). The monies raised from this shop help sick and injured cats in the Derby & District region, funds assisted neutering, provides cat welfare information and aides their costs in rehomin unwanted cats.
They do get a lot of good quality donations and naturally being a charity shop it is the luck of the draw what is in stock when you visit. The clothes are good quality and have all been cleaned before put out for sale, there's mens, womens and childrens clothes for sale. It's a good place to look for retro clothes or items for fancy dress or drama.
There's also a good bric a brac section and if you are a student looking for odds and ends like the odd plate or cup this is the place to visit. The book section is also well stocked and very popular.
There is also a selection Cats Protection and cat themed merchandise so if you know a cat lover it is a good place to buy gifts, especially stocking fillers etc.
Also on the shop you will find information leaflets on cat care and the charity's work. The shop staff do not deal with hands on cat welfare but will give you all the information needed to contact the charity's welfare team. The shop is staffed by volunteers and new volunteers are always welcome.
