Oh this is a tough one to review. We ate all our food and found it tasty enough..my concern was the entrance. it was our first time ever visiting and there were two doors. One said "smoking" the other said "non smoking"....im not sure but i thought we got rid of indoor cancer traps decades ago..and if it is smoking they have no door separating the two sides. nor is there an air purifying system. You can smell smoke when you go in the Non smoking side..again not sure if they are letting people smoke or if it just stinks. service was friendly but not awesome, didnt feel appreciated for being there. We ate, paid and will probably never return. Its not terrible. but it was not for us. read more

I work in Lawson, so the lunch options are limited, however, Catricks is my go-to. It is a homestyle, no frills cafe with excellent food and service. They have daily specials and different desserts. My go-to is the hot chicken. It is an open faced chicken sandwich, served over mashed potatoes and covered in white gravy. Great for my diet? Nope...but delicious all the same. read more

When you're in Lawson and need a bite to eat...this is the place to eat! No.... Literally it's the only place to eat. It was interesting stepping back in time and sitting amongst actual cowboys and farmers and listening to them, but that's the only good thing I have to say about it. Service is horrible. The Sugar Daddy burger with the fresh cut fries (skins left on) are the BOMB! My favorite burger in the entire Northland. Best to eat while inside restaurant, if you can, so fries stay hot and crisp. read more

Gives you tue feeling of a down home meal. Country fried steak is great. Breakfast is good for the cost. Eggs hash browns bacon sausage the whole spread. The sour dough toast is what makes me a repeat customer however the biscuits and gravy are the worst I have ever had. The gravy literally tastes like flour paste I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. Thats saying something because I have eaten head on full body squid bullfrogs spiders and crickets to name a few. That gravy is so bad its just not edible. The biscuits were very dense and heavy. The service has been good every time we go. The place is clean and the people are nice. I will recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want biscuits and gravy. read more

My husband and I eat at Catrick's fairly often. To be honest, the food is pretty good. It's a nice little restaurant to have lunch at after church. The waitresses are always very pleasant and nice. However - don't go if you don't have plenty of time to sit and wait for your food. More times than not, you'll sit there waiting for at least 30 minutes. Today my husband and I went there for lunch and it was an hour and 10 minutes before we got our food. I asked our server to check on it twice, and she did, and she was very apologetic - I know it wasn't her fault. The second time I went to find her and say something, I said "It's been over an hour" - and another waitress who was standing at another table immediately spoke up and said "We had a party of 20 people and it's been busy". Okay, first of all, I wasn't talking to her. Secondly, I wasn't rude to my server with what I said. After I asked about the food this second time, our server went to check on it and she came to our table with our plates and told us that it had just come up. My order was correct, but my husband's was not. He had ordered the cod, which normally comes with hush puppies. He got no hush puppies, he got texas toast. And he ordered cole slaw and cottage cheese, and the plate came out with creamed corn. So not only did we wait an hour and 10 minutes, the kitchen got his order wrong. He immediately told our server and she did a great job of taking care of the problem and getting it rectified. So we ate, quickly, because we did have things to do besides sit and wait for our lunch for an hour and ten minutes. Our server came by a couple of times to see how we were doing, I was impressed with her service. She even offered us dessert "on her". We refused, I didn't feel that was right. So I went up to pay the check, and as I was paying (and yes, I left our server a nice tip), I asked to speak to the manager or owner. The cashier asked another server to go get the owner and she went off to tell the owner that there was a customer who wanted to speak to her. About 30 seconds later she came back and told the cashier "She said she's busy". So I asked "She's really not going to come talk to me?" and the cashier said "No". This really blew me away. I bet she knew that she was going to hear a complaint and didn't want to hear it. I wasn't planning on being rude - I am a nice person. I was just going to point out that it took us about an hour and ten minutes to get our food and that maybe they should work on trying to be a little quicker with their service. This is not the first time that we sat there an hour waiting for our food. So now, I don't think I'll be going back to Catrick's. I think if the owner had come out and just listened to what I had to say, I'd most likely go back. But truly, I will really have a hard time going back there again. Shame on that owner. read more

Ok so I had a great salad there. Good amount of food for the money. Chicken teriyaki was a little bland but not bad either. Had the potato appetizer it was cheap and had a lot for the money. I would go back. I can tell from prior reviews the service may be hit and miss. Hope it is always as good or better than what I experience and if so I would continue to go there! read more

My food was terrible, the restaurant is dirty, and it reeks like cigarette smoke. Who knew eggs over medium, hashbrowns, and toast could be prepared so badly. My guess is that they haven't cleaned the grill for a very long time. read more
