The guy came out the back door and said "Hey you, bring that over here." I was going to put the suitcase next to the SA truck that was present but didn't even have a chance before that nasty guy continued to talk down to me. I usually drop off donations about once a month on a Saturday when the older gentleman who drives the truck is there, he's always very polite. But this incident was unacceptable.. I'm going to reconsider donating to the salvation Army if these are the kind of employees they hire.

John and his team were a pleasure to work with. I actually had the opportunity to meet him when picking up the empty toy collection box. His passion for helping make a difference in the lives of countless children was immediately evident and contagious. After my event, they even arranged for pick up as the box was so stuffed with toys that I couldn't even get it back inside my car. I'm grateful to be able to work with such amazing organization. Today's visit to this Small building- Sr. Community Center on Grumman Road West off of South Oyster…read morebay Road, down road some and in back of big parking lot area, brought us to the LI Model Train show and Trainville Hobby Depot, Owned by Barbara and Joe. There were a few signs posted to follow to the location. Handicap door not working but there was a young guard diligently helping people in and out. Sign-in area pay 7 dollars per adult. 2 raffle tickets to fill in and drop by back table where Jim was working. ( see pix) Some displays of various miniature trains and one very nice trolley set up through the Long Island Traction Society. At another display Ryan shared with me the bottle used for smoke ( mineral oil safe) coming out of the caboose. Even miniature Winnie the Pooh and T- ig- GER Too. Some trains had holiday themes as Valentine's Day and Saint Patrick's Day. Flyers were given out for other scheduled dates as well as Oyster Bay Railroad Museum info.

No help at all, thanks for nothing…read more Really frustrating to deal with the inconsiderate driver and helper. It's hard enough when your son's mother passes at 37 years old. I truly thought I was doing the right thing donating her curated pieces of furniture to an organization like SVDP since she was a devout woman of faith. These people were no help. Wouldn't take antiques in pristine condition because "sets" were incomplete. It's eclectic, that's the point! Anyway, now I'm faced with more work because unlike the signature on their letterhead, your kindness is taken for granted and we're not interested in helping the poor. God Bless you.
