Love this campground!!!! We need more campgrounds like this! They are setup for a large number of campers!!! Big and spacious sites! They have everything you want to rent from boats to bikes!!! Did not use the bathrooms or showers since we are in a large rig!!! All campsites are on level cement pads, makes for easy setup!!! The river sites are great, you can fish from your site! The lake is gorgeous! Worth the extra money!!! Easy check in is great!!! Have not had any bad experiences here!!! Other then our slide out not coming it! But that's all on us!!!! read more

We drove in from Texas to visit Catherine's Landing for a mini COVID friendly vacation. Upon arriving, check in was easy and the people were friendly! We stayed in the Yurts which were a fun experience. They don't have running water/bathrooms in the Yurt, but their public bathrooms are close by and very clean. They have decent sized showers with plentiful hot water and the only time this area would get crowded would be when all the families showered around 7pm, which wasn't a big deal at all considering it was Labor Day weekend. The ONLY reason I'm rating it a four star is that there are a good amount of ticks on the grounds in and surrounding the Yurts. Thankfully, we gave our dog tick medication right before getting there, but our friend's dogs were covered in ticks by the time we left. Also, everyone got bit by a tick by the time we left so check your legs, etc every night so you can remove/monitor them. I don't think those staying in the RVs had this problem, but keep this in mind when staying in the Yurts or camping. read more

This is a nice park, close to town and shopping. The pool was not heated and cold, however I am sure it is great when it's swampy hot outside. The site was paved, clean and very level; they can't be beat. Washers were dirty every time we tried to use them. The trash pickup twice a day was a nice service but it was odd to not have some place close by to drop our own trash if we missed trash pickup or cooked later and wanted the trash out. The place left me with mixed feeling. read more

My finances family and I stayed here for our vacation in Hot Springs. It was all our first time traveling hours from home to stay in a RV spot. I really loved the experience and camping here! The pool area was spacious, they had a pond, trails, disc golf and a service desk stocked with snacks/drinks/etc right on site. You could also rent golf carts, boats, canoes, kayaks, you name it. We rented kayaks and the staff was very friendly. It is totally a kid friendly and dog friendly place! Its all right on the river so very easy for water activities. Best part is the park is not far from downtown hot springs! read more

This was an absolute dream spot. The staff is OUTSTANDING WELCOMING HELPFUL LOVELY. Wifi was EXCELLENT which was key for us as we work from our camper during the workday hours. Great location and amenities. This appears to be a new park. There is some shade but very minimal and limited. Sites are concrete and very level, driveways and access are paved. The pool is nice, but during my stay the water way too to warm-it was like being in a giant bathtub with lukewarm water. I would recommend the owners install a water chiller system for the hot summer months because after one or two times swimming in the pool trying to cool off I lost all interest in the pool. However, there is an adjacent river accessible by dock or shoreline flowing with plenty of COLD water! It was exhilarating! Showers were clean, with plenty of warm water to wash off after swimming in the river. The commissary store was sparse but staff very pleasant. I consider the rates high but understand summertime is peak season. If I had had time I would've taken advantage of the zip line tour. Well, maybe next time. read more

This was the second time we have taken our rv to Catherine's Landing. It never disappoints! The guys in our group did the 10 zip lines & really liked it. We also rented a pontoon boat-- it's pricey but better if you can split it up with a group. We made the trip up to Lake Catherine -- it was just a good time relaxing on the water. Two tips: Don't plan on swimming in the river! It's too cold, even in August. Swim in their nice pool. Second, if you plan to bring an rv, try to get a site that backs up to the river. read more

We stayed here during the last week of July 2011 and had a wonderful time. Most of the time we camp in Texas State Parks and not dedicated RV campgrounds, so that may color my review somewhat. Here's a brief summary of likes and dislikes: LIKE ==== Brand new park - everything is in great shape The bathrooms are in pristine shape and air conditioned. The clubhouse is very nice. Boat rentals ($199 half day, $299 full day for a party barge) Family entertainment pack which includes scooters and video games all day) Sites are nice and level with full hookups. WiFi throughout park. Cable TV DISLIKE ======= Brand new park - little vegetation and no trees except for lake side Lake side sites get flooded badly during storms. Let me give a quick rundown on the dislikes: Since the park is brand new, there is no vegetation - grass or trees. Trees have been planted, but it'll take a few years before they provide shade. The bigger issue is that there is also no grass to speak of in any of the sites. Furthermore, the park slopes fairly steeply from the clubhouse down to the lake. That means that during a heavy rain, the mud washed away from the sites will flood certain spots at the bottom of the hill - we had a virtual river of mud several inches deep run through our site. These are minor issues though that can be dealt with and will be improved over time. We absolutely loved the pristine bathrooms with tile and floor and ceiling - all air conditioned. All sites have full hookups with water and electric, as well as cable TV. There is also WiFi throughout the park, although you need to click "agree" on their local site before you can browse every time you turn your computer on - a minor annoyance for the convenience of having decent internet (1M down/1M up). The park is adjacent to Lake Catherine, which is more like a river in width at this spot. The water for the lake comes out of the bottom of a dam, so the water can be quite cold. You can usually find the surface warm, and a serious thermocline just a few feet down (depending on the time of year I suppose). We enjoyed swimming in the lake by the boat docks, and they could almost afford to make a little dedicated swim area. Since the boat launch was hardly used, it really didn't matter. The pool is large and very clean, and the clubhouse has a lot of amenities as well. The boat rental was a lot of fun, and reasonably priced for the use of the party barge. I would very much recommend this location for anyone looking to camp in the Hot Springs area. [Corrected spelling 01/16/2012] read more

A very nice RV park! The setting is gorgeous with the lake on one side of the park and dense forest surrounding the rest of the park. The sites are a mix of pull through and back in with a set of water front sites along the lake. The sites are concrete for the parking pad and have a picnic table and BBQ available. The park has a ton of amenities including a great pool area, pavilion, dog park, disc golf course, boat rentals, etc. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. Wonderful place with so much to do. Very nice size lots and a wonderful dog park. The pool is beautiful & although we didn't have very many people the week we were there, I did see a few kids enjoying the splash pad. Nice fire pits for roasting and also a bbq pit in our pull through. The convenience store was stocked well & had everything we needed. The lake was beautiful & so serene. I can imagine this place would be packed come summer. They are working on phase 2 but it did not bother us at all. Great stay!! About 50 bucks for full hookup with 50amp. We will be back!! read more

We visited this spot for 3 days in a cabin. We luckily got a spot right next to the lake/river so it was nice and cool under the trees. The interior was nice and modern while still making it feel like we were still camping in cabins! They had very nice staff and everyone did there job very well. They had easy to use accommodations. Talk about a hidden gem, this place was nothing short of amazing. When you pull in, the driveway is long enough to have you question whether you're in the right place, or lost in the mountains (although their friendly signage along the way definitely helps). Once you pull in to the check-in area, the woods completely open up to a beautiful landscape with lots of space and beautifully architected buildings. We stayed in one of the yurts, and it was hands down one of the coolest overnight stays I've had. It was modern enough to keep us comfortable (AC, fridge, comfortable beds) yet still outdoorsy enough to get that camping feeling. We had our own deck and fire pit, and all of the yurts are in the wooded area which felt extra private. But the showers were a quick (less than one minute) walk, which is the next best thing to having a bathroom in the yurt, but without having to worry about where the toilet would fit in a circular setting. We took advantage of the dog park (which the pups thoroughly enjoyed), pool, and we rented some kayaks for a peaceful paddle up and down the river. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, be sure to check out their discounts too for things to do in town! If I had to choose between a hotel and staying here, there would be no competition. It's all of the convenience and comfort of a hotel with added peace of the outdoors. read more

First let me say its a beautiful camp site and a great location and i would have considered coming back if it wasnt for their refund policy. I called and asked to move my stay 1 night not losing any days at all only moving and they told me they would have to charge me for an extra day. I tried to explain that i only wanted to move it and still pay the same price and they said no. Not like the park is sold out. We are on our way home and was told to stay here but i wont be recommending this location to my friends who travel through the area. read more

We've stayed at this campground three times and enjoyed it every time. We have a 5th wheel so we are pretty self contained, but I love the campground and the space. This campground is 1/2 way between our home and Dallas, so it will become a regular stopping place for us. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a clean roomy location in the Hot Springs area. read more

Absolutely the perfect rv park. We sold our home and our escrow on our new place was a few weeks away, so living in motorhome. Lovely, wide rv spaces. Showers, restrooms, laundry and a nice dog park all steps away. They even let us extend our stay a few days when I suddenly fell sick. Nicest people that run the park, in the office and the ones who maintain it. Always clean, very pet friendly and well worth the price. Lots to do for small kiddos if you have them too. Stayed here for over a week and I was torn on where to rate this place, but it all comes down to this: Amazing hard-working friendly staff that is obviously overworked and stretched thin. This place is gorgeous, with amenities aplenty and outstanding company with everyone you meet. The grounds are lush with nature And greenery, deer are spotted daily And mist rolls in over the river. Yet the biggest complaint I come back to is dysfunctional mismanagement. Catherine's Landing has tremendous local staff, the problem is they need more of them so please be patient if you visit. Every worker i met here was working dawn til dusk to make this place such a great visit. Cabins - yurts - RV sites (50amp, waterfront/pull-through/back-in, level, cement, quality picnic table, campfire pit) - pontoon boats - kayaks - stand up paddleboards Boat launch - Free WiFi (1.2 D/L, 0.8 U/L, requires simple sign-in, not good enough for consistent streaming) - outdoor saltwater pool (3'-5', not heated, no hot tub) - playset (in wood chips, so wear shoes) - discounts to local spots - mostly clean facilities (bad parenting and disrespectful kids cause most of the problem) - Large community pavilion and campfire site (I encouraged management to utilize these and organize events for community among campers) - Zip-line course next door - 15-minute drive to downtown Hot Springs (a must visit) - outstandingly gorgeous view of the night sky (ruined by spotlights at all facilities blinding you) - Workout room (Bowflex and three quality cardio machines) - laundry facilities (small front leaders, only 2 working) - Wii/MOVIE/Foosball room - 9-hole Disc golf - water feature by pool - Waterfront access (rope swings at some sites) If you're an older traveler and don't like kids consider a weekday stay as this is a popular destination for many families of all ages and sizes, particularly on the weekends. Best advice of all, get out and meet your neighbors. So many wonderful people to talk to and meet. This place has tremendous potential for groups and caravans due to the amenities in place and the options for cabin (family), yurt (small living), RV site (B.Y.O.R.V.), and boating. This place was a very big surprise! Catherine's landing offers:RV(50/30), Cabins and yurts for rent. They have a medium sized salt water pool, play structure, laundry ($1.00 washer, $1.00 for dryer), boat/paddle-board/kayak/golf-cart/bicycle rentals, large covered pavilion for groups or inclement weather, nice bathrooms/showers, river/lake access (water in August was 52 degrees), Ice machine, firewood, propane and Adventure works (Zip lining for $52.00 per person for 12 lines). This place has such potential except for the fact that they need more staff. Our family talked with many of the employees which most were very nice and working 12+ hours a day 4-5 days a week. There were LOTS of families here, so if you're looking for quiet, try going during the week day or maybe picking another park. If you visit make sure that you visit down town Hot Springs! Lots of stuff to see and make sure you bring you old milk jug to take some of the hot spring water home (yes, you can take some for free). If we have to visit no mans land, AR again I would absolutely return to Catherine's landing. read more

We stayed a week in their Cabins, it was very clean, kids LOVED THE SLEEPING LOFT, master bedroom bed was comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed, and the staff was WONDERFUL, and the camp amenities where superb!! The saltwater pool was such a bonus! I recommend staying here to anyone looking for a place to vacation near Hot Springs. It's location is beautiful and only 15-20minutes to downtown Hot Springs. If I could add just one inconvenience the lodge/store hours are 9-5, I wish it would be open just a little later. But please don't let this minor inconvenience keep you from this place! And I'm actually ashamed to add this, because it's such a great place. To add my family and I have stay at many lodging establishments in the past, this by far beats them all!!! I did want to update our review after we had reached our destination. The manager (gentleman below ) did definitely go above and beyond to try to make up these issues. And we definitely get that things happen. But we do feel like the shower should have been thoroughly tested after the first fix to determine whether or not it had been fixed. Also, as a property manager myself for years, I had to learn where the water and gas shut off valves were to each of my buildings. If you have a person on duty as an emergency night contact , they should know how to turn off the water to the cabin. We felt awful that the broken shower ran all night with no reason. We were impressed with Alex, but I'm not sure that we would be brave enough to try again read more

Not great if you're a younger couple, but they still deserve a good rating. Here's our story: There's a lot of loud children, and even if you try to get away later at night for a swim in the pool, they will hunt you down. We went in the dead of summer and was excited to see a pool, but the water was so hot, even after dark, it wasn't refreshing at all. We longed for the state park camping area, which was too full. Although this park is well done and kept up nicely, it felt like there was concrete everywhere. We like to camp among grass and trees. Don't get me wrong, they have grass and trees, and an incredible location right by the lake, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. If you're a family with kids who enjoy riding their bikes, you'll love it. read more

We stayed here for a week because friends of ours were here. Catherine's Landing is a great place to stay. The sites are big enough to handle our 65' truck and 5th-wheel (with 4 slides). We were able to unhook and still not feel like we didn't have room to move around. All the sites are concrete with grass on both sides. There were boats for rent, as well as bicycles and golf carts. And there's a beautiful pool. Sadly, we didn't get to use any of the amenities because we were so busy exploring the area. If we ever get back that way again, you can bet that we'll stay here again. read more
