Historic cathedral in downtown Saint Augustine, although going through a few reconstructions over the years, has some parts dating to the late 1700s. The cathedral is a national historic site and definitely worth a visit. The church is lovely: statues, stained glass, ceiling and wooden pews make for a beautiful interior. There were too many visitors for a quiet, spiritual experience but wandering around you could feel the history and the holiness. A good explanatory brochure helps you make the most of your visit.

The Cathedral Basilica is a beautiful, architectural gem sitting on the edg of st Augustine's hstoric district. This is supposedly the oldest Catholic parish in the United States and dates it's origin back to the 1500's. The architecture is stunning; the stained glass windows are beautiful.

For my decades worth of traveling this globe... I am always drawn to cathedrals and churches. This one did not disappoint and is absolutely stunning inside. Rich in history and just as deep in beauty, this is a must see while in St. Augustine.

Grateful for this plaque to provide important historical data about this cathedral.

Beautiful historic church! Mass was first celebrated on September 8, 1565 and it remains the oldest Catholic parish in the United States. We really enjoyed looking at the beautiful stained glass windows at night when the light shone through. Amazing architecture and so happy that it survived an early fire and that further restoration was completed to keep it looking so beautiful. The St. John Historical Commission posted a plaque with important information so we could really appreciate the history here.

Got to see the church before, during and after mass. It is the oldest church in the US. It is very nice. Their parking is high at $25 Go straight up the lion bridge to it.

The holiness washes over you. The oldest Christian congregation in the United States. The main altar is gold leaf and the stained glass is wonderfully done. There is a prayer room off the main church where anyone can sit and reflect/pray. I would recommend EVERYONE of every religion to visit it is stunning

Breathing, absolutely stunning. Just wow. Photos can't do it justice. Very peaceful, very beautiful. I was able to fit my double stroller with ease. Definitely will come back. Just stunning!

This is a really, truly stunning cathedral. Without question, first time visitors to St. Augustine should stop in to admire the amazing interior of this cathedral. I can't remember the last time I was so stunned by the interior of a church (especially one in North America) - and I'm not even a Christian! A little history: The cathedral's congregation was established in 1565, making it the oldest Christian congregation in the United States! The current cathedral was built between 1793 and 1797, making it the oldest church in Florida! And the interior of the church is really beautiful. Don't miss the side chapel with the glittery and gold mosaic of the Last Supper. A truly beautiful church - not to be missed whether you're Catholic, non-Catholic Christian, or not a Christian at all!

This is one of the most beautiful Cathedral Basilicas that I've ever set foot inside! I was here for about 30 minutes and the inside was quiet, since all what could be heard was the sound of the choir singing hymns with angelic voices! I have some videos of this place as well, but stupid Google Maps no longer supports videos on it, I think. (Why it's really like this is beyond me) Anyway, this is a truly breathtaking place which makes you fell like you are in heaven, the moment you walk in! You cannot go to St. Augustine and not visit this truly historic place, since it is the oldest parish in the United States of America!

Beautiful cathedral, free to tour although donations are welcomed. Located right at the heart of downtown. Great quiet escape from the busy St George street.

We are running kinda late because we had trouble finding it. We go in and no one is overly excited or friendly. In fact we had to find our own way to the sanctuary! We were treated better at the Greek Orthodox Church! We find some seats. I'm immediately turned off by this church because there was a lead pastor and some woman(maybe his wife) talking about their mission trip to 1st world countries! This is my problem with the American church today! These pastors claim to be called by the scripture to go out and spread the message of God throughout the world, while Rome burns around them. They all are arrogant in this interpretation of Mark 16:15-18. It sickens me that this church literally used the phrase "don't be Americanized" of the church when they never mentioned anything they are doing for their own community, their own congregation, or their own country. Imagine what America would look like today if these American churches put even a third of what they put into South America, Europe, Asia into American cities, speaking the gospel to the lost, and the hopeless here at home. Would we have this invasion going on at our southern border? Would we have the LGBTQ+ taking over as the new American religion? Here we have in Saint Augustine a homeless and drug problem that you can see if you ever venture into the historic district once and there they stood on stage today for nearly 40 minutes talking about how they change the lives of these first world country people when in their own backyard, there is lost and broken people. I'm so tired of hearing how wealthy America is and how we're the bread basket of the world. Well, Americans are struggling to pay rent, pay mortgages, to buy groceries and get gas. Russell and I had to get an AC guy out here last night cost us $225 and you know what? He said it was his second job. And here Russell and I sit with Amelia in a church for two hours with no message of Palm Sunday or Holy Week, but briefly mentioning Easter next weekend to say that they'll be super busy next week, so "be prepared." At the end, Russell and I felt like we just wasted two hours of our day not being fulfilled with any message. In fact, we think the church resembles closely to the one that is portrayed in the movie Four Christmases! It wasn't a good impression for newcomers which I found hilarious because they said if you're new, give us five tries before you make your decision. Ridiculous! America is dying! She needs Christians to stop being arrogant to come together and save her! Before you can go throughout the world and preach the wonders of the Lord, you must take care of your own people. Americans have become the forgotten!

The pumpkin patch generally opens the first full weekend of October, and sells pumpkins of all shapes and sizes 11 AM to 7 PM daily. I have family in the area and always make an effort to visit the patch as early as possible in the season because what you see is what you get! They tend to run out of inventory before Halloween day. The historic church building is a beautiful ivory-colored structure, and it's such a beautiful sight to see it surrounded by bright orange pumpkins each fall. Visiting the pumpkin patch is definitely one of my favorite holiday traditions. The folks who operate the patch are friendly, appreciative, and incredibly helpful. If you're open to a less than traditional visit to a pumpkin patch, I'd highly suggest visiting First United Methodist Church.
