Strap in, folks. This review is long but well worth it, I promise :)…read more Growing up a travel soccer player, I was used to only exercising in a group setting while having fun playing the game. Therefore, as a young adult this translated to DREADING working out in a gym all by myself. After a year or so of my only workouts being the occasional pickup soccer games and taking walks at work, I was considering getting a personal trainer because I wanted to get fit but needed more direction on what to do in the gym, how long to do it for, what combo of cardio/weights are effective, etc. When a coworker recommended the Bootcamp classes at IronDNA/Iron Stable to me ~7 months ago, I gave it a try by attending their 3 free classes promotion, expecting to hate it like I did with other fitness classes (I like spin class but I didn't feel like I was doing much and I'm not a fan of Orange Theory.) I liked the 3 free classes and decided, why not -- I don't think I will find much better. I chose an unlimited membership started slow -- 2 classes a week, sometimes 3, and now I go 4-5 times a week based on my schedule. Needless to say I am now that girl who constantly talks about how amazing her gym is. I NEVER (seriously..never) thought I would look forward to working out. Unfortunately, I am moving out of state for work and can no longer be a member, but I will aways credit IronDNA for helping me jumpstart my fitness journey. PROS: -The trainers. Not only do they genuinely care about your wellness, but they KNOW what they are talking about. I'm talking SCIENCE. They also give you the attention of personal training but with the culture and fun of group training. Trainers make sure you have the right form to prevent injuries, have helped me stretch when I was in pain, and (respectfully) pushed you on days you needed extra encouragement. I genuinely love all the trainers/classes but my favorite classes are those run by Seth (the owner) since they are completely different every time and are the perfect mix of strength training and cardio. -The people. Everyone (all ages, sizes, and fitness levels) who attends is super nice, fun, and supportive. I have never felt belittled or intimidated, even by the most in-shape people. I have made awesome friends in the trainers and the other members! -I am seeing real progress. When I first started I was extremely weak when I first started (like really bad...especially my upper body which is common for women) but now I can not only see my body toning up, but I am faster, stronger, and more energized all the time. I'm not where I want to be yet but this gym focuses on sustainable and long-term health, which is great. -You don't need to do all that sign up/cancel BS for classes. You literally just show up during the class time (great times available btw) and the trainers modify the workout based on the amount of people there that day. I have been in a class with 4 people all the way through 40 people and still got a great workout. -The facility. Very clean, and not huge but big enough to fit us all. We will even go outside when it is nice out to expand the space which is a fun change of pace. Honestly i have more pros prob but this is long enough already.. CONS (not many): -I work from home once a week and have wished there were more mid-day classes (for lunch time) rather than just early AM and late afternoon but I don't fault them for that. They work based on demand and even just added class times for the early risers who asked for it. Also I sometimes wish there were classes on Sunday but I get everyone needs a day off! -Not cheap but very comparable to other group fitness classes and VERY worth it. This is your HEALTH, people!! Plus they give different types of discounts so definitely ask what is available for you (this is a pro I guess hehe) -I am moving out of state and can't bring them with me :( Try the 3 free classes. Seriously. I will miss this gym so much and will definitely drop in for a class if I come back to visit!

Awesome facility, great environment, and educated trainers! I look forward to working out here.read more

I have been overcharged by Planet Fitness for approximately one year. I would like to get my situation resolved. Sherry does not return my phone calls. I would really appreciate a return phone call so my situation/reimbursement can be resolved. However, the staff who answers the phone are very cordial I appreciate their help. Whenever I go early morning to Planet Fitness, it appears to be very clean. I appreciate that. Rating: general manager, does deserve a rating as her managerial skills are in question. She does not return her phone calls. How terrible for business???? The gym and staff with the exception of the general manager, Sherry get a five star rating.

They accused me of running someone over because of photos taken of my car. I think I remember a weird man videotaping my car for like 10 minutes and I left the area and I've never seen him since. That in itself was extremely awkward. They said that they don't have any proof that all they have is some person showed them photos of a car that looks like my car and then I guess they did investigative work and matched the license plate. So this is all coming from some weird guy that videotaped my car while I was parked for 10 or more minutes. I'm confused.
