We had a 6th floor king bed room with a small deck. The room was cozy and included a mini bar and safe. We had an issue with our safe and it wasn't working-was addressed quickly with a reset. They have a small Cafe as well full breakfast available (13 Euros). Exercise room was a decent size and had the usual cardio machines as well dumbbells and Resistance station. Unfortunately, one of the elevators wasn't working. The elevator was small and could fit a max of 3 not including luggage. We were able to store our luggage as our room wasn't going to be ready until check-in time at 3. There is a Taxi waiting area right across the street which was convenient. We enjoyed our deck as well the view of the neighborhood. Service overall was excellent with quick responses to all of our requests. Overall, would recommend and we will be back.

We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Miramar during our stay in Barcelona. Hotel Miramar had great…read morereviews and was affordable with a touch of luxury. Check-in was easy and the staff were very kind. They were bilingual and spoke English, making check-in that much easier. Since our room wasn't ready when we got in, we were able to store our luggage and wait. They even offered us complimentary beers and snacks for the inconvenience. We sat out on the large open patio and embraced the sweeping views of the city of Barcelona and Balearic Sea while we sipped our drinks. There are walking grounds to get better views of the city from the elevated hill as well as a rose garden. The grounds are kept up nicely and it makes for a nice and safe walk both day and night. We especially loved the evening views as the sun set across the city and reflected onto the waters. When we got to our room, we were impressed with the size of our suite! We paid a little extra for the city view balcony. Unfortunately, the sign for Hotel Miramar was directly in our view which was annoying, considering we paid extra. However, we didn't use the balcony nearly as much as we thought we would. Just keep in mind that your city view could very well be a view of the hotel signage. Our bed was comfortable and the amenities were plentiful. We especially enjoyed the complimentary Nespresso and tea. The tea was outstanding and I wish I had bought that brand to take home, it's local to Barcelona and could have been easily purchased. The living area was convenient to keep our luggage and other personal items. Both rooms had TVs but we didn't really use them as we were busy exploring the city from dawn to dusk. One of the biggest perks to stay with Hotel Miramar is that it is a bus stop with Bus Turistic, a touring bus company. Since we used Bus Turistic as our personal taxi to get around the city, it was super convenient to hop on and off and not have to deal with the steep incline hike to our hotel. Check-out was easy and they called us a cab to take us to the airport. Overall, it was a really nice stay, we just wished we didn't pay that extra amount for the "city view" balcony which was blocked by letters. We would absolutely come back and stay again.

We stayed here four nights before a Mediterranean Cruise. When booking this hotel, I did not realize it had a few apartments and only 19 hotel rooms. It actually made for a more homey stay. The breakfast which is included with your stay was pretty good. It was a continental breakfast and they had a variety of options such as croissants, fresh fruit, jellies, bread you could toast, yogurt, cereal, assorted meats, cheeses, three different juices and a very fancy coffee machine. This location is not too far from Las Ramblas which is one of the most popular tourist spots. I chose this hotel because it is not right on that Avenue because I thought it might be too loud if we stayed right around Las Ramblas. Casa Vaganto is about a 10-minute walk. They have several restaurants near this hotel. I really liked the location. This building is extremely secure. I was really impressed that every guest and tenant have to have a card to get into the building. The whole area is very quiet which I like because sometimes I can have a hard time sleeping. They have three levels of hotel rooms so you can spend a little bit more money to stay in a larger room with a better View. The elevator is extremely small. We had to ride up the elevator separately with the luggage. That is typical of all hotels I have been at in Europe. I would stay here again if I am in the area.

I'll start off with the pros: - friendly staff that go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a pleasant stay - Location of hotel is amazing within walking distance of the city center and many points of interest - I can see Sagrada Familia from my balcony - The rooms are clean - Thermometer located in room to allow you to control temperature - Beds are relatively comfortable - Plugs located next to the bed to allow you to charge phone - Water pressure is great - Shower is large and comes with shampoo, conditioner and body wash - WiFi is strong and steady - The double beds are close together but there is plenty of room to separate them (see pic where I moved one of the beds against the wall) - Rooms equipped with mini fridge and coffee machine/hot water kettle - Room was a decent size with lots of closet and storage space - breakfast is good with a lot of options - exterior and interior of hotel is gorgeous Cons: - no usb ports so you need to bring an adapter - The twin beds tend to slide and move on the floor - The bathroom door providers little to no privacy. You can literally hear everything as there is a big gap in the door and no lock. All in all, the pros outweigh the cons. The amazing customer service and friendly staff made my stay well worth it. The location was also amazing. I would definitely stay here again but, if sharing a room, make sure you are intimately comfortable with the person you're with given the lack of bathroom privacy. Also, they overcharged both myself and my friends at checkout. Make sure to check and double check all fees and get a receipt.

We were a block and a half from the Verdaguer Metro station, and just downstairs was an orxateria that also served excellent cafes con leche. There were plenty of towels for everyone and the views of Sagrada Familia, particularly from the rooftop, were outstanding. Across the street directly was a lovely ornate church belonging to a Catholic parochial school. The location in l'Eixample was very central and convenient. The rooms themselves were really pretty with intricate carvings on the ceilings and canvas-stretched paintings. There was even a washer and dryer and a dishwasher, which was incredibly convenient. (Instructions are solely in Spanish, though.) Minus one star only because the kitchen was dreadfully small (which, for a place with so many nice rooms, seemed odd), and one of the shower rooms (separate from the guest bathroom) was pretty cramped. But these are merely minor complaints. I would stay here again, no question!

After a ton of research, we decided to rent an apartment as it was more economical than 2 hotel rooms, plus gave us more space. We had a 3 bedroom, 3 full bath apartment with a full kitchen, for 230 Euros per night plus 80 euros cleaning fee. Most apartments have a cleaning fee if you stay less than a week. We wanted the boys to have their own space and not have to sleep in the living room, but could have easily found a 2 bedroom with a sofa/sleeper for less. Here is the link for the apartment we rented: http://negre.us/apartments/PSJ87/14/ The company was wonderful to deal with via email and very good about answering our questions. The photos on the website were exactly as the apartment appears, and it was VERY clean! They also had a washer and dryer as well as free Wi-Fi (which the boys loved!). Toilet paper, towels, and laundry detergent were all in the apartment, and the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes. The original tile mosaics throughout the apartment were absolutely beautiful! The view on the roof was absolutely amazing. There was a sitting area up there, and we did see other guests drinking wine and eating cheese and crackers at dusk. We really liked the area we stayed as quite a few places were within walking distance and/or close to the train, and it wasn't too noisy. Construction was being done, but you couldn't hear it with the windows closed. We chose not to stay on Las Ramblas as it's very busy, crowded and noisy, as well as pricey. We read horrible stories about pickpockets in that area as well, but if you are aware of your surroundings and take precautions you should be fine. We definitely recommend negre us apartments in Barcelona and will not hesitate to use them again should we return to Barcelona.
