I took Rachel's class on 27th September and what a wonderful experience it was!
What made the class so interesting was the authenticity of the dishes and Rachel's vast knowledge of Catalan cooking.
We made 3 tasty dishes communally using a variety of ingredients, squid, black pudding (which I now love), lentils, tomatoes and garlic and most importantly mushrooms. We learnt how to stuff sweet peppers with a mixture of mushrooms, parsley, garlic and cover with a gorgeous tomato sauce! My favourite dish was the squid, black pudding and mushrooms in a chestnut puree which looked very professional and was easy and enjoyable to make! Definitely one I'll be trying at home.
I have attended many cookery classes and this class was more comfortable and less pressured than any I had experienced before. The class was very informal which made me feel relaxed. There were 6 students which I believe was a perfect amount.
At the start of the class Rachel put out warm bread, chorizo, olives, cheese and a number of different types of olive oils which were delicious. Rachel believes we shouldn't go hungry whilst cooking and I agree! We were also offered cava whilst cooking which was delicious!
We ate the 3 dishes in stages after we finished cooking each dish we ate together with a glass of cava, red or white wine. Rachel told us about the type of wines we were drinking with our food which was very interesting.
I would definitely recommend this class to others and plan on buying a class for my friends. read more
