Truly a huge dissapointment... Advertised as a class on how to cook a Phó and Vietnamese street food... We did not learn how to cook a Phó, the pre-cooked Phó-broth (the broth is what it's all about, as u would think, considering a Phó is a soup) was terrible... I've had many, good and not so good, this had nothing to do with it...
We "learned" how to cut vegetables and put them in a summer roll... I imagine you've done that before at home, if you sign up here... The "cutting vegetabIes-part", I mean... Pretty exciting stuff... Or more the part of cooking that isn't really fun... We got to do a lot of that...
I didn't really expect to learn any great secrets, but to at least get the basics of the broth and a semi-decent meal out of it... We ended up not eating, payed another 20 pounds for two glasses of mediocre Chardonnay and left... Since we planned our trip to London around this, it was a waste of time and money in more than one aspect... Considering I've previously spent loads of money on Mr. Oliver's books, products etc, it feels even more like a rip-off...
If you've never cooked before, here you will learn how to hold a knife... If you are looking for anything further than that, including maybe eating a somewhat decent Phó, this is definately not the place to go... read more
