I have not had the best experiences with the dentist office in the past, but Castro Valley Dentistry has changed that view completely. The staff was friendly and made me feel super comfortable. I had a couple visits and each one was a wonderful experience - as wonderful as going to the dentist could be. Dr Aneja and Dr Kode were very accommodating with my schedule, helped me understand the procedure / what to expect, and made me feel comfortable - which in my book is extremely important. 10/10 would recommend and will be making this practice my go to for all future visits. Having recently turned 71, I have had my share of lousy dentistry over the last 35 years. It had been years since seeing a dentist and my daughter found a listing for Dr. Aneja and made me an appointment. I have now been there many times for a lot of extensive dental work and I must report I have never been so happy and satisfied with the results. The doctor goes out of her way to eliminate any discomfort or pain while work is being done. This all started during Covid and this practice goes the extra mile in health and safety for the patients and staff. I couldn't be more pleased with the experiences I've had there. My visit with Dr anju was more than comfortable and easy going. She was talkative through out the process ( I was there for my cavity fillings ). She does explain and go over what is being done throughout the process and the shots to numb your teeth were painless. Usually needles are somewhat nervous but the assurance and execution was great. 30 mins after being done I don't feel pain or soreness or any discomfort. Thank you dr anju for a pleasant visit. We received a treatment plan from this office, which was called on and explained that we have 90% coverage, not 75% coverage for in network dentists. The front desk admin explained she would correct that the office was absolutely in network for Delta Dental PPO. Then once the patient, my husband's son was seen, the bill came in the mail along with check from Delta for covered fees and it was discovered that they were NOT in network. It took months to discuss this with admin after admin and Delta as well. We agreed to hand money over for what contracted fees would have been if the dentist was in network. This was first refuted and the offer was taken the second time. A note was then written with false information to another party stating the dentist didn't want anymore problems so they would write off the $60 or so. The dishonesty is astounding! There is no reason with the availability of so many great in-network dentists in the area to go see this doctor again, even though she had In-network status less than two weeks after treatment! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs! read more

I wanted to use my insurance allowance, decided to go here based off the reviews, but soon regretted it. The front end of the office is a mess. My first visit was terrible and took 2 hours just to get my teeth cleaned. There was some inexperienced assistants trying to get the angle of the X-ray right and other things. I don't want to be the experiment someone builds experience on, especially with X-rays. The doctor eventually had to come in and do the job. My charts were messed up and every time I went it seemed like the doctor was trying to up sell me on either the quality of material used or photos. All things that didn't seem to benefit me but would benefit her. They recommended a plan and gave me a date to come back for work. Every time I came back they told me the pre-approval for work wasn't submitted or they didn't get a response. I ended up paying out of pocket for things because later I found that some of the treatment was not covered. The places were they redid my old fillings no longer feels smooth and there is some sensitivity to hot and cold food now. read more

I felt so safe with all of the precautions they take. They take ur temperature, blood pressure twice. They are covered from top to shoe covers. They would not let me enter until another patient left. Garbage. I can't believe the state allows a place like this exist. This is not a health care facility instead they ruin your health at the cost of your money! Why even have such a business? It's apparent they don't know what they're doing. All they want is MONEY!! I had a simple crown done and I went a few days with pain until I called and the receptionist said they were closed, told me to go to Castro Valley Dentistry on Redwood, another one of their offices or Manteca. I drove to Castro Valley and wouldn't you know it a run down, DIRTY, old office located in an alley!! Inside was worse with carpets in the rooms,I felt like I was in a horror film. Clearly they are begging to be shut down by the health department. At my appointment all the assistant did was take a bunch of xrays and told me to give it two weeks...okay? Bye, I'm done. I got smart and found an honest dentist down the street within a couple hours. There they removed and redid what that horrible office did to me. I feel better, thank you Dr. John Nakhala! Hayward Dentistry and Castro Valley Dentistry can keep whatever money my insurance paid them for now but I will be taking this above them. Two words for the owners: MONEY HUNGRY!!
