Jessica and Felipe helped me find the perfect paver for my project and Felipe kindly divided two pallets into four so they could load them in my truck in four trips and not overload my vehicle. "Consumer Beware" of dealing with personnel at the CastleLite Block location in the Dixon, California! We installed the product ourselves. Although the product we purchased was great, their management, sales personnel, customer service, dispatch and online ordering information is poor. Communication and follow-through are way below standards. The only positive person at the company was Sergio, the delivery driver that dropped off the product. He was professional, friendly & efficient. The company policy only sells their product by the pallet. The online ordering system needs to be more accurate so that it matches what the live salesperson quotes. We measured the area to build a short stand-alone wall & noticed the # of pallets on the online estimator was different (2 pallets) than what the salesperson, Hathavan, quoted (1 pallet). Hathavan assured us that 1 pallet would handle our project. Although we advised Hathavan that we would utilize the clips to keep the blocks together, she failed to tell us that the clips were a separate part and price. When we attempted to contact Hathavan by phone and email, she never responded or was on vacation? After numerous calls, Cherie, the Dispatcher, advised us that if we needed the clips they did not offer any delivery by UPS or FEDEX. Frustrated once again, we traveled an hour back to Dixon to pay and pick up the plastic clips. When we finally built the wall we came up short of 6-blocks to complete the build out. We then recontacted the company once again and asked if we could purchase 6-additional blocks but were told we would have to buy another complete pallet of (96-blocks) plus pay another delivery charge $$$. Note: This a Manufacturing site that makes these blocks . To tell a consumer we would need to purchase another full pallet even if we only needed 6 additional blocks is not a reasonable policy for a consumer! Dissatisfied ... we sent emails and requested to speak with a Customer Service Manager to help us resolve this issue. Cherie told us that the customer service manager was on vacation and we would have to await upon her return. We escalated and asked to speak with another Manager or the Owner. Finally, a person named Nick, returned our call and advised us that there happens to be one open pallet of the product and color we needed and that we could come back to Dixon to purchase and pickup the 6-blocks. After we arrived in Dixon and paid for the product, Cherie, the dispatcher, told us that Nick was out in the yard waiting for us to pick up the product. So, we drove to the yard, and looked for Nick. There were 2-forklift operators working in the yard loading pallets on trucks so we patiently waited for Nick. Finally, after about 15minutes, the forklift operator drove up to us and we told him that Nick was expecting us in the yard. The forklift operator said that Nick never comes out to the yard. Frustrated again, he made a call to the front office then asked for "hand-written" payment receipt of the 6-blocks and that he was going to assist us. He had us follow him in our truck to the area where the open pallet of product was and provided the 6-blocks that we needed. We finally accomplished our install but it would have been a lot more efficient if the Front office and Staff were more receptive to our issues instead us going around in circles. read more

Sales Rep Steve Barsanti gave me a price that bested Mr. Pavers and Black Diamond. I have a lot of plants, some very special, adjacent to the existing concrete driveway that was removed, along with irrigation lines that I wanted protected. Steve carefully communicated that fact to both the demo and installation teams. Plant damage was very minimal, and I did not lose a single specimen. The irrigation lines were also kept intact. Steve visited my home throughout the removal and installation process. He even fixed my sagging backyard gate without my asking, gratis. He was always responsive to my requests. The work was completed in three working days, and three of my neighbors stopped by to tell me that the company's work on my driveway and entryway (the latter which was Steve's suggestion, and I'm glad I did that additional work) was impressive. This review is based on the product only as we had a local landscaper install the pavers in our driveway and front porch. Within days of installation a white powdery substance appeared in several areas. The installer tried to clean it with no luck and also replaced stones in those areas but the white chalky substance showed up on those stones too. Castlelite came out and looked at it but basically told us that's just the way it is and they wouldn't do anything about it. Our driveway has looked horrible ever since. We used another product in a backyard project and had absolutely no problem with those stones. Stay away from Castlelite. read more

We chose CastleLite based on their bid, price price negotiation, and paver styles, textures and colors. It took a week, including a phone call, for them to contact me after emailing them a request for an onsite estimate. The crews were proficient, polite, and performed all work with enthusiasm. At least one of the crew of five spoke English. The old concrete removal and actual paver installation took only five days. The estimator, Mark, ran the job. His scheduling and communication between the crews and me could have been better at times, although he was always easy to reach on his cell phone if I had concerns. This company is unique in that they both manufacture and install the pavers. I would recommend them for driveway, patio, and walkway work. Doug J, Danville read more

A big thank you to CastleLite and Steve Barsanti, sale rep, at the 452 Hartz Ave., Danville showroom. We had approximately 220 square feet of Sonoma Blend Carriage Stone installed in our backyard to replace an old redwood retaining wall. We also had stairs installed to make it easier to access higher levels in our backyard. The materials are some of the best we researched and that is one reason we went with Castlelite. The demolition and trenching crew were hard workers, polite and cleaned up after each phase of the project. The stone masons knew their craft and worked deliberately and at a pace that insured there were no mistakes. It is probably a good idea for one of the homeowners to be on the premises to supervise or communicate your wishes if there are last minute decisions that need to be made. Steve Barsanti was attentive to our needs and responded quickly to any of our requests or adjustments we desired during the project. Buy this guy a steak!! read more

I'll start by saying that we only purchased pavers from Castlelite Block - they did not do the installation - so this review isn't about their work. We ordered about 10-11 pallets worth of pavers that our contractor installed. When you purchase pavers from Castlelite, you pay a deposit on each pallet that they deliver to your home, with the understanding that you will be reimbursed for the pallets once they are returned. Our project was finished and pallets picked up in late May/early June, 2014. We have YET to see our reimbursement for the pallets. We have contacted them numerous times and they keep telling us the check will go out on "Friday" - we've heard this 3 times now. I could understand if there was a hiccup in their system or perhaps they need more information from us to move forward - but the only communication that is happening is when we email/phone them and either the manager is out or they'll process it next week..they never call us or follow through with their promise to send the reimbursement. Just warning anyone out there interested in working with them..communication and follow through aren't very good. read more
