Castle Glen Cellars in Montville is one of the two off-site store fronts for the actual winery/brewery/distiller based in The Summit. So do not expect to be walking in vineyards or see barrels.
What you'll find here is bottles and bottles of fermented/fortified wine, flavored of all kinds - from chocolate (my favorite so far is dark chocolate) to banana to musk (sort of a cinnamon stick I guess) to "Sex on the Beach". They also sell their wines.
The storeperson is a lady working solo at the register and handling samples. Samples you say? Yes, they provide them, just ask if you're not offered first.
For those of you undecided on which big bottles to purchase, fear not, they also offer sets of sample sized liquor (in 10ml bottles) which we happily purchased.
If you like sweet liquor/wine, this is for you.
Note: I couldn't give the full 5 stars because while the lady at the register turned out to be pleasant, I felt like she was watching us just a bit excessively so I wasn't totally comfortable browsing around.
The lay out of the register/sample counter seemed to overtake the front of the store/window bay area -- if the business owner(s) would like to take notice, I would suggest moving the counter back a bit as there seemed to be more room for the storeperson rather than there is for the visitors read more
