It's a nice little landmark you can get a few fun photos at without a crazy crowd. It's not going to blow you away, but it has some decent photo ops. There was a tour bus that dropped us off here so it wasn't too much of a hassle. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to get here, but if you have time it's worth a stop.

Ok this is going to sound, a wee bit strange but the pan (bread) at the little cafe on at the entrance was incredible. The castle was really cool to explore. Once we got to the castle, from the ticket counter, we noticed there was no one to help with the (locked up) handicap lifts. My mother waited at the castle entrance while the rest of us explored the castle. (I don't think she was interested in the castle, I think it worked out). If you are handicap and interested, I suggest mentioning to the ticket folks you will need assistance. I also recommend getting there early, its pleasant to walk the corridors with less folks. The handicap entrance is the service entrance driveway be prepared to go up a very steep incline. (did I say steep? I meant to say "very" steep). We (as a family) enjoyed the castle and do recommend a visit.

This is a quick and cheap stop that you must make if you're visiting Palma. You can tour the castle for just a few euros. My husband is a history buff and absolutely LOVED it. After walking through the castle, you can actually go to the top of the castle where you have a stunning view of the port and the city of Palma (as shown in the picture). The beauty is just inexplicable. You won't regret your visit!

Beautiful castle on the island of Mallorca. It only costs 4€ per person and the tickets is on the far left upon entrance and then you'll need to walk back towards the entrance for entry. It has a lot of rooms within the castle with historical information and old pieces that use to reside in the castle when King James ruled. My favorite fact is that all stonemasons that help build the castle make their own special markings to get paid and to Mark their work - so if you pay close attention to the castle walls, you'll see markings from the stonemasons. Definitely worth a visit to learn facts about the island :)

Interesting to see where Joan Miró lived and worked…read more The Fundació Miro Mallorca's collection is comprised of thousands of works by Joan Miró. Interesting to see paintings on canvas, sculptures, drawings, notes and sketchbooks. The weavings were an unexpected surprise. It was amazing to see the wealth of techniques, materials and procedures that Miró used in his creative process. Unfortunately, much of the gallery and the studios were closed due to renovations. Nice bookstore though. Able to pick up an illustrated book and some beautiful prints for a family member. The walk in the garden was also pleasant to see more sculptures. The museum is free on Saturdays from 3-6 and on the first Sunday of the month from 10-3. Admission is 9 Euros for adults and 5.5 Euros for seniors. We walked from the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus line. Nice museum in Palma.

The docents were well versed and passionate about sharing stories of Miro's life and process. The last stop of the tour was a lovely cafe where we had snack cakes, the traditional Mallorcan pizza which is all veggies and no cheese. They also served a selection of fruit juices and lemonade. A nice visit that was way too short. If you are familiar with Miró, it's worth the trip. If not, it's interesting to get to know his work.
