While shops like this are generally looked upon my most as the scum of the retail world, there's no denying that they do have some tremendous bargains from time to time.
This particular shop is a prime case of perseverance paying off. Having popped in for a quick browse regularly on bi-weekly visits to Ponty town while I was in uni, I would often find myself rummaging through more rubbish than the average Womble. However, on one visit, while searching through an endless supply of half-broken crap, I finally struck oil.
Behold, an exercise bike. A half-broken exercise bike at that, but not unfixable. The second I saw the price tag, the deal was done. A half-broken exercise bike for five buckaroonies? Yes please.
Although lugging the bargain bundle home was a task in itself, it didn't take long to have it fully functional and safely in the comfort of my living room. Two hours of TLC with a spanner and screwdriver and the bike was completely fixed and working as good as new.
Out of curiosity, I typed the model number into Google to check out the going rate for the bike and was more than pleasantly surprised to find it on ebay for £99.99. At almost 95% discount, I'd class that as a job well done and as good an advert for Cash Generator as any. read more
