What can a photographer say about Nikon repairman Robert Decker? The man is a legend amongst Nikon…read moreenthusiasts. Recently, on the advice of a fellow photog who shares my passion for the Nikon F2 (we both plan to be buried with our respective cameras), I contacted Robert. I asked him if he could replace a defective resistor ring in my F2's DP-1 "photomic" viewfinder. The light meter is built into the viewfinder and resistor failure is a common cause of the meter behaving erratically or failing completely. Robert agreed to fix it. He did an excellent job - the meter works like new. I was charged $85 for the repair and $10 return shipping and I got the repaired DP-1 back within two weeks. The cost, the quality of the work and the fast turnaround time are all noteworthy. But in addition, Robert is very good about responding to email. He can be reached at drwyn@aol.com I gave Robert five stars here because it is not possible to exceed that amount. I am passionate about my Nikon F2 - and grateful to the man who kept it going.
