The Aquidneck Grower's Market is a staple for Newporters of all walks of life. From 2-6 PM every…read moreWednesday during the summer, you can see them line up to sample the wares of food vendors from the island and beyond. It gets pretty darn crowded, so if you can, try to come around 2pm or closer to the end of the day to beat the scads of Lilly Pulitzer clad housewives, patchouli scented hipsters, and miscellaneous dog owners who frequent this pop-up marketplace. Parking is an absolute NIGHTMARE, so do everything you can to come by foot. Literally. The street is so narrow. You will not find a space. Do not even try. There's a good range of vendors, who sell everything from fresh fruits and vegetables (try some raspberries!) to prepared foods (curried chicken lettuce wraps at the Boru Noodle Bar stand are AMAZING), and even some non-food stands, like one that sells homemade essential oils and body glitter. My top picks are the Tricycle Ice Cream cart (so cute and Instagram friendly! Try the strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich!), June Love's English Bakery (the titular Mrs. Love is the fabulous British dessert making grandma we didn't know we all needed), and the aforementioned Boru Noodle Bar stand, which is new to the Market, but soon to give the perennial "popular kid" Tallulah's Tacos a run for their money! Head to the Aquidneck Grower's Market before the summer's over - you'll be so glad you did! And get me a strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich, will you?!

Every visit is a reminder of how vibrant and talented our local community is. The market may be modest in size, but the quality, variety, and friendliness are absolutely top‑tier. The vendors consistently bring fresh, seasonal produce that tastes like it was picked that morning--crisp greens, gorgeous tomatoes, berries bursting with flavor, and so much more depending on the time of year. You can truly taste the difference. Beyond produce, the market is full of local makers, bakers, and growers offering everything from fresh bread and pastries to artisanal cheeses, honey, jams, and handcrafted goods. There's always something new to discover, and everything feels thoughtfully curated. The atmosphere is one of the best parts: warm, welcoming, and community‑driven. Vendors are happy to chat, share tips, or tell you the story behind what they grow or make. It's the kind of market where you run into neighbors, linger a little longer than planned, and leave with both great food and a great mood. Whether you're stocking up for the week or just enjoying a Saturday morning stroll, the Stonington Village Farmers Market is a true local treasure. Fresh, friendly, and full of character--highly recommended. Cheers
