This was a review I've been meaning to write for a very very long time but have been unable to just…read morebecause every time I google this guys name or see his name I get PTSD from the day he represented me during my trial. I was charged with a serious crime (I'm sure everyone who is charged will tell you they did not do it so no point in starting that conversation), I was young and had no criminal history or priors, a clean driving record even. I was falsely accused of a crime and I was given a list of nearby lawyers, I had little to no knowledge of what I was doing and saw Steven in court during one of my earlier hearings and asked to meet with him and asked him to represent me. He told me not to worry and that everything was going to be ok, he would get me off of all charges easily. After meeting with the crown again and again nothing was agreed upon and he said we must goto a trial, his fees were 5000$ cash and another 2000$ for the trial, all cash. I was a student at the time as well and had to take out loans and take out cash advances to pay for this as my savings barely covered all this and the travels to the court hearings (I'm not from brockville, actually very far from it) One thing I noticed meeting with Steven every time were his eyes were red, he was always sleepy and he has no shame in asking for money from you. Long story short the day of the trial came and here we are in the middle of a trial where my life was on the line and he's yawning and his eyes are shutting and they're red once again, I continuously wrote him notes (Yes you read that right, I was giving him notes on what to say to the court..) and had to make sure he was paying attention. He didn't let me go up to represent myself and told me it would be better if I didn't take the stand at all. The judge found me guilty but was lenient on my punishment because the judge was told I had no records or previous history all while he's yawning left and right as I'm having a mental breakdown and panicking. I was charged with a felony for something I did not do and he came up to me after we left the court room and said exactly "yeah.. sorry about that, I tried what I could" To this day I think about that trial date and have nightmares about this guy and all the others he's misrepresented with his actions, I don't want to make accusations about another person because he may have some sort of illness but my guess is he has some sort of addiction and is not fit to represent people in court. If I was given this man as a free lawyer I would not take him, I also urge anyone considering him to look at his reviews closely as most of them are fake (his wife is literally one of the reviewers and most are fake or family/friends). If anyone wants to contact me feel free to by email and I can help you as best I can but please please pay for a better lawyer, if I could go back in time I would have. My email is clashofq3@gmail.com if you want proof of this dollar store lawyer. Please hire a proper lawyer and don't make the same mistake I did.

I contacted Aitken Robertson Law Firm when I had the shock of my life. My 17 year old son got a…read moretresspassing ticket under the Provincial Acts. He was also handcuffed and arrested. The dread of every mother is to get a call from the police with the words "come pick up your son, he is under arrest". I contacted Aitken Law firm a few days later, having talked to a string of lawyers and paralegals and finally I talked to the amazing paralegal, Jami Sanftleben. I have no words to describe the professionalism of Jami. He explained the case from the perspective of the police records, from the perspective of Criminal law, from the perspective of future employment for my son and from the perspective of scenarios if he is caught again under the same or a different act. My son is a black man and this is an absolutely terrifying experience for me as a mother. How would this affect my son if he is caught speeding and has another encounter with the police? Can they pull up this record and be biased against him for a simple speeding ticket? How would it affect him if he were to apply for a federal position? How would it affect him if he were to travel to the United States? Can the charges be fought in court and what are the possible outcomes? A whole string of questions were thrown at Jami for nearly 30 minutes. Because I had also read extensively about these charges, he was able to answer the questions from the perspective of all parties concerned: the police, federal and municipal authorities, travel and immigration, future convictions, records and databases. Before i talked to Jami, I had pretty much accepted the idea that my son would probably never overcome this. Black men have to be at the top of the game academically (which my son was) for them to just be the "average" Joe, a counsel I had given my son throughout his life. Now there was one more thing against him that he had worked so hard academically to overcome. It was simply a devastating event. But the professionalism and thoroughness and gentleness of Jami went a long way to be able to see things as they are and less according to my fears and projections. Frankly, the more experienced Criminal lawyers I had talked to were not able to answer these questions as Jami had. There was just a complete thoroughness about Jami that is hard to explain, a clarity and complete composure mixed with a big dose of kindness. Im very grateful to Jami. If you have a case that requires the hands of a paralegal, you will be in excellent hands with Jami. He has my deepest respect for his humanity and my highest admiration for his thoroughness and depth of knowledge. Thank you very much, Jami!

When I spoke to Richard he assured me that I had a very good chance so I retained Aitken Robertson…read more I thought he was going to represent me but I ended up having to talk to Virginia who was just very condescending and her concern was very superficial. My case was pushed off to 2 paralegals without my knowledge and I was to communicate with just them. In the end she wanted me to pled guilty. I spent thousands of dollars when I would have had the same outcome if I had done it on my own. Overall a very disturbing experience on a very serious matter and I would not recommend them.

We used Todd's office for a home closure signing. We never dealt with Todd directly, but instead,…read moreAndrea was our point of contact. It was often extremely difficult to reach her. She'd call, we would call back within 1 minute and the lines would be busy for hours. We'd leave messages and not get timely responses. We set a boundary with Andrea that email works great and she did respect it after asking; however, her reasoning was they were very busy. So were we and it was a very self-centered response. We always responded as soon as anything was requested. The day before closing, she called first, I called her back and the lines were busy within 30 seconds, then she sent an email at 439p (they close at 4p) stating if they don't hear a response by 9a, we would have to close at some unknown later date. If the office is that busy, either get more staff or get an answering service, but it made a situation stressful when it didn't have to be. Todd did call and left a message to check on us after that interaction and it was appreciated, but hindsight, Andrea's responses were not professional. At the end, all was completed and thorough, but it didn't have to be this disjointed and she really needs to work on her delivery. Google reviews tend to lend to this has been an ongoing issue for them.

You would think giving your business to them to take care of you as a client would form a bond and respect but instead the female lawyer that did the paperwork for my house sale was the most disrespectful person ever. The law office got paid from my house sale and I didn't and the office didn't bother to make sure I got my check for over a week going into two weeks and wanted to evict me out of my own home that I wasn't paid for and this is the female piece of nothing that supposed to have my back as a client and for that reason I don't recommend this law office to anyone. The seller's lawyer said I should stay at my house with my babies until I got my money to move and also apologize for my inconvenience and that wasn't even my lawyer. Zero respect and ratings for Todd J Doldo Law Firm for that very disrespectful business encounter.
