The beer was cold, the drinks selection reasonable with enough for everyone. The food was standard pub grub, burgers, fish and chips, lasagne, etc. which is hard to get too wrong. All in our group were happy with our selections which were reasonably large and cooked as expected, I'm usually hesitant to order a steak in a pub but after a day of physical activity I was very keen for the protein top-up and was pleasantly surprised that the steak was a near perfectly cooked medium-rare, no easy feat when so busy and not something I usually expect given the circumstances.

Then it has such a keen audience - most people will have finished their climb to Kosciuszko and this will be the first source of food/beer that they will see so they are going to be keen. Finally it can lay claim that everything about it and everything on its menu can be said to be the highest in Australia - a pretty fun thing to be able to claim! So in spite of this it is still a good place! I had an excellent skinny latte (highest skinny latte in Australia!) and then some delicious home made scones with jam and cream.
