We attended an olive oil tasting here on a shore excursion from our cruise. It was about a half hour bus ride from the cruise port in Civitavecchia and was a nice drive seeing the farmlands and agricultural area north of Rome
The demonstration was quick but we got to taste their olive oils and bruschetta along with some local wine and jams. Nothing amazing, but it was a good experience and was nice to see how olives are harvested. It didn't meet the needs of the geek in me that would really like to understand the difference between olives, mixing and distinguishing quality. You will learn more reading real food/fake food if you want this information.
They also have a bed and breakfast and a pool for people wanting to stay at a real olive farm away from the city. read more
