Its disadvantage is that bus transportation to and from the city will cost a couple about $12 a day because Taormina shuts down from 1-4 in the afternoon. So, one might as well join the locals and take a riposo or go to the beach, and return to Taormino in the evening.. It is not possible to walk the distance, Having said that, Agon has many advantages over hotels in the heart of the city. There are five well-appointed, spacious, very clean rooms with en suite bathrooms. A main breakfast area and lounge adjoins them and provides a spectacular view of the Ionian Sea. A small beach is across the street as is the bus and the railroad station, making arrivals and departures very convenient. Perhaps most intriguing is that Davide, who owns the B & B with his wife, is a certified (important) Mt. Etna guide and knows Sicily and the immediate area very well. He can arrange all kinds of tours and has many contacts in the region. In general, Agon, is a good choice in season and off season.

We loved our stay at Villa Floresta. The early 19th century building is full of character and its…read morelocation is perfect (central). We had a room with two balconies, one overlooking popular church square and the other with the view over the see. If you're not lucky to stay in a room with a view, there's a terrace on the top with deck chairs and tables, so you can enjoy la dolce vita. The room was big and very comfortable. It had everything you need, including a small fridge. The manager was very friendly and helpful with local tips. The only slightly annoying bit was that the cleaners, who come every day, were sometimes moving too many things around and switching off the aircon, but I still 100% recommend it.

This place has had no reviews on TripAdvisor for at least the past year. That should have been a…read moresign. Unfortunately, we relied on the older reviews - which aren't bad - but then we learned upon arrival that this B&B has new management. Too many negative things to list, and I'd rather just forget the whole experience.
