    Leaked cheese in the bag.

Food was extremely soggy and the white cheese container was not sealed correctly, resulting in it all leaking out in the bag before I got home. I only live about 2 miles from where they were parked...My second attempt at giving them a chance to feed my family. Food truck #2 in Priceville. I will never go back and will never go to their brick and mortar store either if they allow this type of service under their name.

Just a few days after my calorie-laden meal with John for the sake of Birria tacos, I got a Snapchat from BJ letting me know that she and Jeannie were at Casa Santiago Mexican Grill on 6th Avenue. The picture she sent? Quesabirrias on the menu. Off I went! Though not my #1 Birria taco, it IS #1 in Decatur so far! Super meaty, lots of flavor, crispy, ooey gooey cheese. Even better after adding the cilantro, onions, and red sauce. I will definitely be returning for these... and for the Pueblo Tacos Jeannie got. These are my now-favorite street tacos in Decatur. Cute presentation too. BJ got the Sanchez Burrito. Beefy with all the toppings inside, with just cheese sauce on the outside. It was good, as were the chips, salsa, and guacamole. Aside from the food, I appreciate the toned down decor of Casa Santiago lol. #HeatherEats #VisitDecaturAL

So far this has been the best Mexican restaurant I've found in the Decatur area. Inside is clean, and decorated nicely. The menu is large with plenty to choose from.

Nothing you order will be bad. I always have trouble deciding between the chicken fajitas or tacos pueblo. Either way, I can't go wrong.

I saw the great reviews of this place, especially for the birria tacos, which are one of my…read morefavorite dishes, and knew I wanted to try it out. This restaurant started as a food truck but saw enough success that it's now opened two brick and mortar locations, one in Decatur and the other in Priceville, so that seemed like a good indicator. I went for a late lunch after work around 2 PM a few weeks ago. The restaurant has a small, slightly bumpy/torn up parking lot and a curiously large step up into the restaurant -- watch your footing, as I almost fell forward trying to walk inside. The restaurant is small. You enter and are greeted by a nice bar area; go down the hall and it has maybe 5 tables at the end, along with restrooms. It did take me a while for anyone to offer me seating. It seemed like only one person was waiting tables. Though he made eye contact with me a few times from the serving area down the hall, he didn't acknowledge me until I walked down the hall to look around and see if anyone was available to help me. He then asked if I had a carryout order (I think -- pretty limited English on his part and even more limited Spanish on mine), and I said no but that I'd like to sit and eat. After that, he promptly seated me and took my drink order. Chips and salsa came out after that, and my food order and eventual check were timely, though I'd never really describe his demeanor as particularly friendly. Not the end of the world, but I wish I'd felt more welcome. The chips were solid - warm and fresh - but the salsa wasn't especially flavorful but for a strong cilantro vibe. I was starving, though, so I munched happily enough until my order arrived. I got the quesabirria combo, which comes with two quesabirria tacos and rice and beans. These tacos tend to be filling and many combos elsewhere come with three; personally, I think two is plenty, though I'd say the price is a little higher here than comparable spots I've tried. The rice and beans were exactly average...or, they averaged out to average, lol. Rice slightly below average (low flavor, a few slightly undercooked/crunchy bits), beans slightly above (pleasantly smoky), and so on and so forth. I was primarily here for the main event: birria tacos. And unfortunately, despite the rave reviews I read, I thought these were really disappointing. They didn't skimp on meat, at least, but...despite being generously portioned, the meat didn't have a ton of flavor. It was a little chewier than the silky, melting beef I've had at other places. But the worst part was they were overwhelmingly - OVERWHELMINGLY - greasy. Don't get me wrong, birria is by nature a rich dish and I wasn't expecting to get up and skip away home after a light meal, but... It was so greasy that the taco shells, which are usually pleasantly crispy after grilling, were for the most part sopping wet, even on my first bite. Every time I picked a taco up, fatty juices/grease spilled from the edges. And when I squeezed, a stream practically ran onto the plate. You'd think at least with this much fat/grease they'd be more flavorful, but they really were not a flavor bomb. They weren't inedible, but I must admit I left feeling disappointed and having not adequately fulfilled my craving. I know there are lots of well-regarded Mexican spots in Decatur, so I suppose I'll keep trying. Hopefully, I came on an off day. I wish this restaurant the best and I hope their success continues; even though it was not for me on this visit, it's clearly popular with others.

I entered the supermarket and saw a crudely made sign that said taqueria and entered a hallway with another sign that said taqueria with an arrow pointing me further down the hall. It led me to a simple room with a few tables and a smiling woman sitting at a cash register. The room was a bit spartan, but I always have said that the best Mexican food comes from these humble little mom-and-pop type places and not some plave heavy on atmosphere and ambiance. This place had cheap tables, but pleasant (though cheap) prints hanging on the wall. I took a menu and found a table. The woman came and with the same pleasant smile, she said she spoke very little English. I smiled and said I spoke very little Spanish. I was able to order with no problem by pointing at the menu. I ended up ordering five tacos. I ordered chorizo, asada, carnitas, cabeza and barbacoa. They brought me very good bean dip and tortilla chips to start with. The tacos were very good, as well. They brought a red sauce and green sauce with the tacos and both were good, though the green was pretty impressive. All in all, this was a great experience and if you find yourself in Decatur, Alabama, I would definitely recommend here.

The service was really fast. I forgot to get the actual "mexican" name for the dishes we had. So here goes... I had Carne asada with bacon, peppers and onions. It was really delicious. It came with beans, rice and flour tortillas. My husband had steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. This is why I gave 4 stars...it comes with chorizo but he didn't want that. He wanted the chorizo replaced with chicken. The waitress confirmed several times what he wanted. He also doesn't like rice, so he always gets no rice, extra beans. When he got his meal it had chorizo and he got rice and beans. We sent it back to get the chicken instead. We didnt send the rice back, my daughter ate it. His food was very tasty and came out sizzling. The steak was tender and cooked just right. My daughter had the birria tacos. She got 3 tacos, with dipping sauce. No beans or rice. They were also delicious. We finished our meal with fried ice cream and it didn't disappoint. Itw was crispy on the outside and frozen in the middle. It was served in a fried flour tortilla with caramel, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was big enough for all of us to share. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. The food was delicious but just a little disappointed that she didnt get the order right.
