The sewage smell in the elevator is a lot less strong than it was earlier today, and the sewage smell from the bathroom is mild but distinctive. The thermostat says 53 (too cold for the room in Fahrenheit and too warm for Celsius) and is broken. I'm cold, and there isnt an extra blanket in the room. I haven't complained to the front desk because I'm not sure how they could possibly fix everything wrong here.

If you know a local or have a way to get here, then you should definitely visit this great beach. Being from the East Coast of the U.S., it can be hard to compare to compare this beach to the ones that I have visted. Since the beach is not super popular, it is not too crowded (a key point for me). I know some people like to go to beach and people watch, but I'm more of a chillax type of guy when it comes to my beach excursions. Also, there is a cute restaurant/bar where you can purchase adult drinks and food. If you are a customer, you can use the restaurant's facilities to change in or out of your swimwear.

The streets are crazy narrow even for the professionals. We arrived early and were able to check-in. The woman at the front desk was delightful and super helpful (she also checked us out and ordered us a taxi). Fortunately I booked a superior room and it had a stupendous view of the valley below. The hotel is right on the edge of the cliff. The hotel is an old palace so it has its quirks but the room was big and the balcony huge. There was a safe and a small frig and tea kettle. The price was pretty good but it was off season. Not a big deal given the room we had and it was the weekend but the main square of town right outside the front door is in the midst of major construction so it could be loud on weekdays depending on the room. This project looks like it has a long way to go... Thumbs up.

Breakfast, which costs ~30 eur/two people was good, and includes fruits, meats, tea, and coffee, but it was by far the most expensive meal we had in Arcos de la Frontera. I'd recommend having breakfast only once, so you can enjoy the view from the restaurant windows of the valley below.

Everyone speaks English there and so now difficulty in communicating. I stayed in room 411 which was in the corner and it was good. The couch needs to be replaced because there are no more cushions on the arm rests and it feels like the arm rest will fall off soon. I would of given this 5 stars, but the break fast was OK. For one is that breakfast should be open sooner instead of opening up at 8AM, then breakfast closes at 10:30. Not very long as far as service. Then I would recommend in having a different type breakfast dish every day just to mix up the typical daily items you see every day.

The only things to note were that the pool is unfortunately only open 10am - 7pm but that was ok for us in the end. They also have very secure on site parking which is €10 per night and very convenient. I'd recommend this place - great value compared to other places we found and the front desk staff was super helpful!
