Before I left Brazil, I wanted to grab a couple boxes of brigadeiros to take home for my family…read more For those who aren't familiar, brigadeiros are small, round Brazilian truffle-ish chocolates covered in chocolate sprinkles. They are extremely soft and sweet, and according to Wikipedia the main ingredients are condensed milk, butter, sugar, and cocoa. Anyway...back to me wanting to bring some home. I love chocolate and my family loves chocolate, so I thought these would be a good little treat to bring back to Hawaii. On the Sunday afternoon before my flight back to the US, I stopped at Padaria Gemel with my friend's mom to pick up some brigadeiros. I'm happy that I knew exactly what I wanted to get, because Padaria Gemel had so many items to choose from! Chocolates, cookies, cakes, and pastries galore...so many items there looked amazing and delicious! I stuck with my order of brigadeiros and got two boxes full to bring back home with me. The brigadeiros are sold individually, so ordering a lot will only fill a small box. I didn't get to try them until I got home, but they were sweet and soft and delicious! I would definitely come back to try more of their sweets and treats! Three stars is mainly for service. As a visitor to Brazil, I had a hard time ordering my brigadeiros by myself. I got a few not so nice looks from the ladies behind the counter because I had a bunch of questions about the candies (mostly about how long they would keep and would they be ok without refrigeration for 24+ hours of travel). Even though my friend's mom was helping me out, I could sense their thoughts and the fact that they didn't really want to answer all of these questions needed no translation for me to understand. TL;DR - not very nice looks while asking questions, great brigadeiros, and lots of bakery options!

Although on the receipt I believe it ended up reading like coffee with milk and not a latte or an espresso latte. It was good either way and served the Italian way with a speculoos tasting cookie and a shot of sparkiling water. A nice place to relax after a long walk with. The pannetonne selection looked great although pricey like in the US when I go to my fancy Italian market with the expensive pannetonne. So I didn't buy one. I'll wait til Christmas when they're all over

I didn't walk into Bacio di Latte with high hopes. Sure, it looked nice enough from the outside but…read morenever did I expect I was going to discover really great gelato here, much less the best gelato I'd sampled outside of Rome. My go to gelato order always consists of yogurt plus a fruit flavor or a chocolate flavor. But many gelato shops don't even produce yogurt so the moment I spotted it here I was excited. I chose yogurt and raspberry but only after sampling a bunch of other flavors - I mean, they have five different types of chocolate alone! (Thankfully, the folks scooping the gelato are patient with non-Portuguese speakers who can't make up their minds!) We were slightly confused by the payment order on our first visit, so you know: Pay for your scoops first, then select your flavors (people who handle the money don't handle the gelato). Bacio di Latte has several locations in São Paulo. If I were you, I'd try and visit them all!

Here is the breakdown. GELATOS The gelato selections are great and there is an array of both traditional and special flavors to choose from. I always try having different flavors when I go but some of my favorites include: Nutella, hazelnut and stracciatella. Also, the coffees are pretty decent if you want to have it afterwards. DECOR/ AMBIANCE Very cute place. They have a rustic modern look to it. Great vibe, it is always packed and I enjoyed seating there for a while, eating my gelato slowly.
