Amazing taste and I am so excited to see that they have opened a unit in Los Angeles, where I live. Every time I go back to Brazil, going to Bacio di Latte is a must for me. Here is the breakdown. GELATOS The gelato selections are great and there is an array of both traditional and special flavors to choose from. I always try having different flavors when I go but some of my favorites include: Nutella, hazelnut and stracciatella. Also, the coffees are pretty decent if you want to have it afterwards. DECOR/ AMBIANCE Very cute place. They have a rustic modern look to it. Great vibe, it is always packed and I enjoyed seating there for a while, eating my gelato slowly. Very comfortable and charming spot, perfect for a date with a friend or to bring the family over. SERVICE The Brazilian service at its best. If you been to Brazil you know the service is great and they do their best to treat their customer right. Very nice staff and very attentive. On our last day in Sao Paulo my roommate and I walked by this shop on our way back from Ibirapuera Park. We recognized the name from the Lonely Planet guide to Brazil so stopped in for a last minute treat before heading to the airport. This was hands down the best gelato I've had outside of Italy and possibly the best gelato I've ever had. I got tiramisu and chocolate chip on a waffle cone. It was the perfect combination - the tiramisu was creamy and rich, the chocolate chip was icier and refreshing, together it was heaven. My roommate got the coconut gelato which she declared the best gelato she had ever had. If you're in Sao Paulo a trip here is a must. Not to be missed!! read more

Legitimate gelato shop - not one of those gelato shops that actually sell meh ice cream. The atmosphere is really cute - can be either intimate or casual. Good stool and bench seating and also big and small tables. The staff is very friendly and open to letting you sample. They were really nice about us being indecisive. Pistachio and Hazelnut - both were perfectly smooth and tasted real (rather than syrup-y). Also had chunks of nuts which I really enjoyed. I think the only reason why it's not 5 stars is bc I've had gelato in Italy which is just ethereal. Back then, i had no idea that this would become an addiction for me! It was nighttime and i was genuinely surprised at how many people stood in line just to buy ice cream. The line went out of the store and spilled out to the sidewalk. Now, standing in line is a daily tradition for Brasilians everywhere, but imagine my surprise of a line for ice cream! After some time had passed, we finally were able to enter the place and i was immediately drawn by the posh interior design (clean, modern) and by the assortment of flavours that they offered. i quickly realised that this was no ordinary ice cream, but Italian gelato. i picked my three flavours and took my first bite WAIT A MINUTE. WHAT IS THIS????? My first experience of gelato was NOTHING compared to this: silky smooth and full of pure flavour. Like Americans, Brasilians also tend to eat their food either too salty or too sweet; this gelato had such a sublime and delightful sweetness to it At Bacio, they offer usually three to four variations of flavours: chocolates, fruits, special limited offerings and their normal collection of "classics" (such as pistachio and their signature "Bacio di Latte"). Whatever flavour you may choose to get - you get to pick three flavours regardless of the offering size - it tastes as it should taste. For exemple, fruit offerings in other places tend to have an overt sweetness and an almost "industrial" taste about them. Bacio's fruit offerings somehow transplant the nuances and characteristics of each fruit in its purity. A pear tastes like a pear. A strawberry taste like a strawberry. Simple They proudly state on their walls that all of their ingredients are fresh and locally-sourced. Not only that, they make all of their gelatos on premise; no distant factory of mass production! When i first visited Bacio, they only had this (the main store) and another location in São Paulo. Now, as of July 2014, they have 11 locations in São Paulo and two in Rio de Janeiro. When they began this expansion, i feared that quality would suffer but thankfully, they are maintaining their award-winning standards (it has been voted the best ice cream in São Paulo the last three years running) at every location i've visited Two years on, i am still crazy for Bacio. i have never been this crazy for ice cream until Bacio. Please do yourself a favour and try it once; you might get hooked like me! read more
