I loved everything about this place! From the soothing green decor and hand-painted mural, to the adorable ceramic dishes and cups, to the sweet and accommodating waiter... not to mention the food! It was all perfect! We were seated right away and given extensive menus. It took us some time to decide because everything looked fantastic. I ordered avocado toast with a side of fried eggs, which was foolish, because the meal that came out was way too much for me to finish. Absolutely delicious rustic bread with shaved avocado, panela cheese, spinach and arugula and red onion, and chunks of sweet tomatoes on top. (Note: in America, I refuse to eat tomatoes raw, and if I get pizza or pasta, I opt for anything BUT red sauce if I can. In Mexico, somehow, tomatoes are freaking amazing. I eat them every chance I get because I know they're good for me!)
My partner's eyes were also too big for his stomach. He ordered chilaquiles verdes and a side of waffle with ice cream. He said the verde sauce wasn't spicy and it wasn't quite like the verde sauces he's used to (he orders dishes with it everywhere). He wasn't crazy about it but said it was fine. There was no way he was going to finish both dishes.
But damn if that avo toast wasn't fantastic. So, five stars for my experience!
Also, I really enjoyed the background music playing in there. My phone told me it was all by a band called Maná. Good stuff! read more
